Let's not lose sight of the second-order effects of data breaches.
Would you be willing to answer the Census, ACS or CPS (assuming they continue) if you knew your de-anonymized answers could be accessed by a Nazi-saluting oligarch and a 19-year old tech-bro wannabe whose Insta handle is Bigballs?
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.
“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.
Most large chains aren’t going to bank on a single origin like that. Coffee at McDonalds/Dunkin is usually a blend of whatever is seasonally available. Peak harvest should be done in Colombia, but some might still be happening. This is pretty awful timing if you’re a farmer or exporter down there!
Used to work for a coffee importing business and worked closely with Colombian farmers. Not sure about your follow up question on brewing at home, but about a quarter of coffee in the US comes from Colombia.
Hardly a surprise but it's still difficult to fathom the level of contempt Republicans have for servicemembers to allow this low-life untreated-alcoholic rapist TV show host with no qualifications and no redeeming qualities to be Secretary of Defense.
Consider the horrors interrupted. Until you try to pet the belly. Then it’s a different kind of horrors.
Big fan of things like this that make students’ articulation/realization of their skills/experience unavoidable. The faculty role is massive; big props to everyone involved here!
Alright this looks really fascinating and I’m definitely giving it a look when it’s out!
This is wild and also not surprising from where I sit and all the conversations I have with parents who also have no earthly idea what college costs. What would you all want to tell tenth graders about what it costs?
If you think you saw me outside the stadium with George Clooney and a black duffle bag last night, no you didn’t.
“Greatest scandal of any college or university in history” huh? Ever hear of Penn States athletics programs?
Just to clarify:
A member of Congress who supported white nationalism tried to get a Black university president fired by accusing her of anti-semitism. When that failed other white nationalists accused her of plagiarism, but needed mainstream media to treat it as a big story.
And they did.
Just absolutely shit news all around.
