As I sit here from my vantage in Providence, Rhode Island, my favourite walk is over a bridge that was twice rebuilt. First to displace thousands of immigrants from Cabo Verde to build a highway, and then to build a pedestrian bridge for folks like me to enjoy.

The only thing I might add is that these issues will only become more salient in high-income countries, too. The UK is poorer today than it was in 2007 and early returns suggest the US might go the same way.

What will become of international development after the end of the aid paradigm? Some thoughts in response to questions I get from students and young professionals

Yo, JMCs

I have an idea for how to share new research while social media fragments..

In Nov/ Dec, I'll do weekly Substacks on new JMPs on gender.

If you'd like me to discuss your JMP, do share.

This would only be a nice, supportive discussion. 😊

Curious what the disincentives are. Is it the incentive to be "novel"? My narrow view of (my corner of) political science is that there are incentives to borrow from other disciplines and demonstrate theoretical breadth with new applications.
