Ha! Yeah I can only imagine somewhere there's a "number of turns" KPI and this is the hack they found to drive that up in the short-term. I also have a "no follow ups" in my custom prompt, but unfortunately not everywhere.
Google Gemini is really the worst at "engagement prompting". Always that follow-up question. Like a salesperson suggesting articles even after you said "just looking" for the 3rd time.

BTW, I wrote the whole thing with Claude Code in about 30 minutes. Coding agents really open up the door to bespoke software modifications. I wouldn't even had attempted to fix this myself pre-AI!

Yeah, I mean that's the dark side of sticky products... but I'm hoping that these technologies become more widespread and then every product has that capability. And maybe there'll be open standards for memory exchange etc.
