I was honored to be invited to Dr. Demento's retirement party. He played some things by me over the years, and a few times I got to be a "cast member" (hang out in the studio during the show). He's been a mentor and role model. Very happy to honor him for 55 years on the air and 85 years on earth.
There's a sense in which I respect the evangelical leaders who unhesitatingly lined up behind the idea that President Pedophile B. Antichrist, the libertine looting and burning the world every day, is god's manifestation on earth. You have to rework your brain and moral sense so much to get there.

I largely enjoyed MIKE & NICK & NICK & ALICE, particularly the action stuff. Some of the dialogue is snarky and overwritten, assigned to characters without regard for whether it fits that character. Very fun premise, though.

I always took it to mean they didn’t really want to screen it at all but they know there’s a stigma to that, so they show it at the last possible minute out of spite. They figure it’s probably not going to get good reviews no matter how easy they make it.
