Honestly it explains a lot about why I was treated like a pet by my "friends" when I was in high school.

Why is it that the latter is thought to be normal but the former isn't? If being needlessly mean is "normal", then I am better off being the "weird kid".

I'd rather be cringe than mean.

Thinking about it now, as someone who has been in both general and special education classes in high school, kids in gen ed classes are so needlessly mean.

Like, I would rather hear my classmate talk about Sonic the Hedgehog for 2 hours over overhearing some kids trash talk behind someone's back.
