Screenshot of a post from Donald Trump: A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!
The President of the United States is openly threatening to commit genocide against 90 million people.
Prime Minister Carney: if there was ever a moment to denounce this illegal war, withdraw your support, and call for accountability for war crimes—it’s now.
there has to be something deeply wrong in your soul to be able to say "idk if this is a genocide and an apartheid state actually"
Israeli lawmaker literary drinking to the death of Palestinians. Yet they will say criticism is blood libel. Evil irony.
A look at the UK's history when it comes to LGBTQ+ people is seeing how often it was forced by others to respect queer people, only giving in when it had no choice.
“Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. The physicist who led that transformation says the same playbook could work anywhere—if governments have the courage to change the rules.”
We are in the midst of an industrial revolution based almost entirely on solar and battery tech. If there's any single reason to have hope for global sustainability it's shit like this. Solar and battery tech is becoming so affordable that it's saving lives at scale by offering affordable cooling.
@CIJAinfo In response to the election of Avi Lewis as the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP), Rachel Chertkoff, Senior Vice President, Community Engagement, and Richard Marceau Senior Vice-President, Strategic Initiatives and General Counsel, Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, issued the following statement: “Today, the New Democratic Party elected Avi Lewis as its leader. We are left with a deep sense of sadness. “Rachel’s uncle ran for a provincial arm of the NDP in 1963. He believed, as so many Canadian Jews of his generation did, that the democratic left was a natural home for a community that had faced persecution. It is hard to imagine that he would recognize the party today. "The two of us, along with other concerned Jewish and allied activists, have spent years at the table with NDP leaders, staff, and members. We engaged in good faith and made the case that protecting Jewish Canadians from hatred is not partisan, but foundational. The hope we had that these leaders could bring themselves back from the brink is now exhausted. “This weekend’s convention was a stark reminder of how far the party has drifted from its roots as the voice of Canada’s working class and trade union movement. Canadian Jews helped build that movement. Today, many are made to feel they no longer belong in it. At a time when antisemitism has reached a crisis, the NDP has become a hostile place for the vast majority of Jewish Canadians who want to fight for progressive values. 94 per centof Jewish Canadians support the existence of the State of Israel yet have been pushed out. “Avi Lewis is himself Jewish, and we respect his family’s history in this party. But Jewish identity is not a shield against accountability. When a leader declares that Zionism is inseparable from ethnic cleansing, he is not engaging in legitimate policy critique. He is telling Jewish Canadians that a core part of their identity is illegitimate. That is exclusion.
Avi Lewis is Jewish and was standing alongside MP Leah Gazan (daughter of a Dutch Holocaust survivor) yet because they're all anti-Zionist the pro Israel lobby attacks are coming in day 1
Finally, a game with no controversial politics in it

Avi Lewis waving as supporters gather behind him beneath a slogan: "The NDP comeback starts now."
To every volunteer, donor, organizer and NDP member who helped power this history-making movement: thank you.
We are building a new foundation for our party, and we are ready to come roaring back on the Canadian political stage. Let’s get to work!
@attie.ai, for those who wanna press the funny buttons too
It's a good day to be a socialist in Canada.
Avi Lewis: 39,734 votes (56%)
Heather McPherson: 20,899 votes (29%)
Tanille Johnston: 5,159 votes (7%)
Rob Ashton: 4,193 votes (5.9%)
Tony McQuail: 945 votes (1%)
The majority of NDP members are saying yes to Canadian Socialism, I'm so stoked!
Very excited for Canadian politics going forward.
Having an pro-Palestine Jewish Socialist as the leader of our left wing party is cool as fuck.
NDP 🤌
If you had told me in 2008 when I was standing on Toronto street corners with my little group of Jewish women for Palestine that in 2026 NDP would elect a Jewish leader who was openly pro-Palestine, I never would have believed you.
As Jack said in his parting words, hope is better than fear.
This speech is really good.
He stays firmly focused on how we’re all struggling because of the ultra-wealthy hoarding profits and the monopolies on our groceries, cellphone and internet, etc.
“This is more than a rigged economy. It’s a war on working people,” Lewis said.
I'm laughing at the "life long ndp voters" saying they won't vote NDP going forward since Avi Lewis won because he represents a swing "too far left".
That's the fucking point lmao, if you want center left politics we've already got the Greens and Liberals (with the latter swinging further right).
If the estimates were right, there were about 9 million people at No Kings rallies today.
That would mean this protest was THIRTY TIMES AS LARGE AS THE TEA PARTY PROTEST which we were told, over and over again, was a massively important sign that US politics had shifted dramatically to the right
Avi Lewis has just won the leadership of Canada's NDP.
@desmondcole.bsky.social is LIVE on the convention floor, hearing about what this left turn means for the NDP's future with @naomiaklein.bsky.social, Matthew Green, @leahgazan.bsky.social, & more.

AVI LEWIS WINS LEADERSHIP OF THE NDP PARTY!
Remember when Israel bombed a hospital & sniped a journalist & said "we would never do that" & the Western press wrote that down with no questions or memory or integrity & then Israel just destroyed every hospital in Gaza down to the NICUs, and then outdid the whole Iraq war in journalists murdered.

Thanks @kevinosx.bsky.social for the new banner!
Ooooo, enjoy! I've got a copy of it but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
This doesn't account for the nearly 5,000 confirmed deaths across the region, as well as the millions of people displaced.
The US promised it would not escalate to attacking critical infrastructure, but like it always does, immediately went back on its word.
This is getting very dangerous.
Protesters gathered to form a human banner at S.F.'s Ocean Beach, spelling out "Trump must go now" on Saturday as part of a No Kings Day event.

According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, US & Israeli airstrikes have damaged 92,662 civilian buildings and infrastructure including 71,356 residential units, 20,399 commercial units, 290 health facilities, and 600 schools.
This includes the attacks on civilian infrastructure as noted below.
As a reminder, the reason you don't hear about the hostage crisis anymore is because all the Israeli hostages were released.
Meanwhile, there are 10,914 Palestinian hostages detained in Israeli prisons on “security” grounds, with half held without charge or trial.
