D5 of #DitchSummit - Can I just say how much I ❤️retrieval & how much it's already part of my classroom?! In a cool circle of events, I originally learned about RP on DS from @retrievelearn.bsky.social & @patricebain.bsky.social ,who even gave me a pg in her book! Thank U to Dr. Blunt for more ideas!
I’m going to Ditch Summit, a FREE online conference for educators from Dec 15 to Jan 11. Topics include student engagement, AI, school culture, technology, practical teaching ideas, and much more! ➡️ Register at ditchsummit.com
When you turn P-T conferences into a deli counter! #tlap #scitlap #ditchbook
Sometimes, as a middle school teacher, you think they forget about you - then something like this happens. 💚 #tlap #scitlap
This project is one of my favorites things I've ever been a part of. Check out Our Chestnut Project! 10 years of kids being part of one of the biggest de-extinction projects to ever exist! #tlap #scitlap tantasquachestnut.weebly.com
Originally learned this from @mrmatera.bsky.social , but HEXAGONAL THINKING might be my favorite discussion/critical thinking activity! #tlap #scitlap #ditchbook

A two-panel graphic comparing how a balloon animal giraffe scales. The left panel, "BEFORE," shows the giraffe's outline and "TONY" text remaining thick when the image is scaled down. The right panel, "NOW," shows the outline and text scaling proportionally with the giraffe.
Notice anything different about Google Slides?
The selection box now has corner circles and side handles. Even better: resizing multiple objects scales borders and text proportionally. No more fixing after shrinking or enlarging! #EduSky #EdTech #GoogleEdu
I learned about this chart at a recent MassCUE AI Palooza - I think it would be a great school-wide resource, everyone can reference the same scale to use with their Ss. #edusky #ditchbook #tlap @ditchthattextbook.com - I thought of you immediately and wanted to share. leonfurze.com/2024/08/28/u...
Just one way, but I made a Team slide show with pictures, how things work, contact info, etc. I also usually go to Open House to meet families!
@ditchthattextbook.com any idea on this? TIA!
You know how we are bombarded with AI tools for edu? I made this informational text and liked it but I have no idea what program I used. Does this format look familiar? I think I used state science standards to create it. Help! #EduSky #ISTELive2025 #ditchbook #tlap #AI
Ran out of room for my hashtags! #SummerSchoolDiaries #EduSky #tlap #scitlap #ditchbook
Not gonna lie, I'm nailing summer school. Focusing on retrieval, exec. functioning, reading/writing, & data. Ss are coming more than they are required. The vibe is that "this is actually kind of fun"! Today Ss are researching local restaurants and writing CERs to convince me to get them some apps.
WeWillWrite
In today’s edition of #SummerSchoolDiaries we tried out WeWillWrite! The feedback (from kids traditionally not that into school) was that it was kind of fun and they’d do it again! #EduSky #WIN #tlap #ditchbook
I miss edCamp Grafton too! That was the best!
I play with ChatGPT and Gemini all of the time! Plus Gems has a little example promo. Learning to hit the target is fun!
