I finally saw Training Day last week and enjoyed it but not because of how it was directed.

There’s a huge difference between being independent and/or introverted and enjoying our own company which is fine (actually much better than fine) and being isolated, which for most people and definitely for me is not at all fine. I didn’t appreciate the difference in the moment.

I had a boss once who used to text me to tell me to call her. Perhaps not coincidentally she was also the worst manager I ever had and one of the worst people I’ve ever met and every time I am reminded of her useless existence it’s a battle to not wish all the worst things to happen to her.

Having nothing at all to do with their music which is sort of besides the point I hate that this is a thing and I guess I either better get used to it or move to the woods with my scratchy vinyl records and my old timey gramophone. Or both.

Could be both. I remembered the piece he wrote for spin called something like the ten most accurately rated bands as being excellent but I reread it recently and it’s a clever idea but that’s about it. At the time though I thought it was brilliant.
