i am one episode into this from the creators of The Silt Verses (maybe the best fiction podcast ever) and it's already delivering. Great characters, gorgeous writing, incredible world building.
Saaaame
i wouldn't mind but it seems to me that they never actually read that book either

Famously Sauron's eye never missed any intruders upon his land
*Bender injecting racehorses with tranquilisers when a jockey walks in*
Jockey: Hey! What are you doing?
Bender: This. *injects jockey with tranquiliser*
"She’s built like a steakhouse but handles like a bistro."
Sharron Davies ranting against 15 minute cities, because of course she is.
Suzanne Moore in the Telegraph saying she wants to... kill all dogs??
Julie Burchill asking "does it matter if Grok undresses us all?" in The Spectator
Graham Linehan in the midst of his now four-day-long double down on Alex Pretti's murder being justified and fine.
Calling transphobia a 'gateway drug' to the far right undersells it. It's pure accelerant. Grimly fascinating to guess what crankery becomes any famous transphobe's secondary obsession, cos they all have one: 15 minute cities are fascism! Grok noncing is cool! ICE are good! We should kill all dogs!
[getting rejected at the bar] that's fine. actually my boys and i were thinking of diminishing and going into the west
What a beautiful moment.

friend just texted saying "hey can you explain special relativity to me?" and the way my little face lit up.
funny how ppl recognise that kemi badenoch is a nasty, bigoted, far right idiot but they trust hilary cass who was hand-picked by kemi badenoch.
A screenshot of a WhatsApp message from Lapinski. The text says "God I love drafting, you can just churn out any old bullshit and then get Darran to check it makes sense 💜"
author pals this is a reminder that I like answering your weird niche science questions please ask me weird niche science questions
The real message to the HP fans and what they are incensed at hearing is: “Grow up“
everyone’s discussing how financially stupid this is and they’re right but it’s also logistically stupid. zero way to charge foreigners and not locals without a hell of a lot of racism coming out in the wash
Fuck Harry Potter just read discworld. It's a fantastical world of magical creatures and adventure but the author has class consciousness and knows how to write comedy that isn't just making fun of how fat a character is
Insta-blocking anyone who speaks positively about this show. Rowling is a bigot who is actively campaigning to make trans lives worse so if you watch this show I will assume you are a transphobe, end of.
I think with the level of venom with which AI proponents have treated artists, writers, musicians, whole creative industries, they deserve at the very least to have that venom met in kind, and I hope it stings. I'm only sorry it hasn't happened sooner. Party's over, enjoy the hangover.
She's snug!!!!
A photo of a jumping spider, species Pellenes nigrociliatus, inside a snail shell. A film of silk webbing has closed up the entrance partially, so the spider is peeking out.
i have just discovered that there's a species of jumping spider (Pellenes nigrociliatus) that builds nests in empty snail shells and makes little silk curtains to seal the entrance and i want to cry!! look at her!!!! she's so cute!!!!!!
