Anti-trans hate groups wanting to work with the leader of @stonewalluk.bsky.social means that leader has already failed.
I'll reiterate what others have said - Stonewall should be banned from Pride this year.

From a different social media platform:
Stonewall quietly changed its definition of transphobia last year to help allow the government to pursue its Wraparound Conversion Therapy policy.
The reason Dugdale has been appointed is to launder its *faux* Conversion Therapy ban.

Would be grateful for any non-binary folks from the UK filling in some new research on non-binary experiences of family support.
Many thanks!

This BBC immigration and asylum story is a moral panic. Poorly evidenced, generalised panic about a marginalised social group. Next week, the government will respond with a new 'crackdown'. This will then further exacerbate public anxiety.
You know who wins from all of this, Nigel Farage.

Not sharing that article, but the Worcester LGBT piece by the BBC is up there with the most irresponsible and unethical reporting I have ever seen.
I am not defending the activities of individuals named in the story, but with no idea of extent the risk of harm to genuine claimants is huge.

dan's right btw - the news story says there were about 1500 asylum claims on the basis of sexual orientation in 2025, but doesn't contextualise that within the roughly 100k asylum claims - so we're looking at 1.5% of all asylum cases being for lgbt+ people

Sophie is genuinely doing incredible science communication work with her strips lately and I’m so grateful for it. Clear takedown of the anti trans talking points combined with what the papers *actually* say

Yep, very much feeling the same. Burnt out beyond words with everything thrown at us. Getting harder and harder by the day to keep things afloat. Good luck with it all. Here's to hoping a fresh start brings you all safety and peace.

Out now in SPPS 🎉 So happy to share my first publication from my postdoc. This project developed from a student intern's fascinating question: do asexual people benefit from romantic relationships? We tested it. Together with @dsquared.bsky.social, Manuela Barreto, Pamela Qualter, & Jasmine Crosbie

4 frame street reporter comic. the reporter, off frame, asks someone waiting for the subway, with a dark long jacket, a gold and red scarf and round glasses : miss! any thoughts about
the newest study showing
that trans people's mental
health deteriorates after
starting gender-affirming
treatment?
she replies :
kaltiala's paper didn't measure
mental health deterioration. it
measured how many trans people
visited a psychiatrist after
getting their diagnosis from the
finnish gender clinic, which forces
trans people to be screened
extensively every 3-6 months
during their treatment.
this paper counts any visit
to a psychiatrist, including
when the patient is cleared of
any issue, as a sign of "mental
health deterioration". that metho-
dological flaw is mentioned in the
paper*, but that didn't stop any of
these powerful anti-trans
bigots to share it online.

Care Leads To Worse Outcomes"

I don't mean to misrepresent - I was focusing on the use of the word optimistic.
From my limited understanding, there is very little hope of getting guidance that enforces inclusion.
If the current & short term fight is on the phrasing of our exclusion, the word 'optimism' feels hard to read.

For me, a more palatable and less obviously offensive approach to segregation isn't a win, especially where it hits the most vulnerable in our communities.
I'm not meaning to undermine the success of delaying the guidance nor of the potential impacts of tweaks to the guidance.

Genuine question Jo - When you say optimistic - will my kid be segregated at school from September, yes or no?
If the answer is still yes then the word optimistic is not welcome.
More polite segregation is still segregation. Segregation with occasional exceptions is still segregation.

Its just ignorant and going to massively raise stress levels, while pretending to be inclusive. Does not at all signal a safe and inclusive service.

We cannot take kids books this unabashedly and openly trans for granted and this looks so cute. Also, I will always support a book with a great pun title.

I have never felt less secure as a parent of a trans kid (especially as a trans and 'activist' parent).
The pressures and threats are enormous.
Protecting trans kids in the UK is getting to be impossible.

Folks are not leaving out of choice.
I know folks who really can't afford to leave, who have no safety net, who are looking to leave because they fear social services taking trans kids away from supportive parents, cos they fear their kid won't survive denial of healthcare & school segregation.

I know a range of parents of trans kids currently looking to flee the UK. I'm looking myself.
I got annoyed recently with someone who called this type of flight 'entitled', as though a child & family being forced away from family, friends & the only place they know is a privilege.

The survey takes 30 minutes. The survey is not paid. However, at the end of the survey there is a lottery with some respondents receiving vouchers as a token of appreciation for participation. It is hosted by UCL in partnership with Gendered Intelligence. 13/14

For non-binary people experiences of outness and disclosure can function a bit differently to binary trans people, and I hope this research will build our understanding of non-binary experiences, enabling better provision of information, advice and support. 11/14

This is a topic that I hope will be useful in raising knowledge of how non-binary people manage these experiences, what help and hinders disclosure, the impacts of disclosure, alongside the impacts of living without disclosing a non-binary identity to your friends and family. 10/14
