You don't even have to agree with teacher's unions on 100% the decisions they have made to have an issue with that article. But effectively blaming teachers for high inflation leading to inflation-adjusted funding set by state legislators to fall behind costs is ... a choice!

One of Oregon’s Most Powerful Unions Is Rebelling Against Democrats Reporting from the Oregon Journalism Project reveals a portrait of an organization that has grown more aggressive at the same time it faces unprecedented financial and membership headwinds.

This hit piece on Oregon's teachers stars all the worst Democrats like Mark Meek (you may know him from the transportation funding disaster). Suspiciously one-sided in whose perspectives it covers and how it describes education legislation.

A message I got from my Dad that has me 🤔.

"For reasons I won't go into, I've been searching unclaimed funds here and there."

My position is pretty simple: if you want the public to support using public money to remodel a stadium, then you need to make the case to them in public about why using those funds is better than some alternative. The tradeoffs associated with use those funds should be honest, clear and thorough.

Billionaires didn't get that way by taking care of other people or caring what they think. They got that way because they have a hole inside of them where most people have empathy, and their hold can only be filled by hoarding wealth, regardless of the wider social consequence.

Not having the team's award-winning photographer for your team's first playoff game in five years is absolutely nasty work and indefensible.

Iowa went all-in on school choice. It's hurting this city's public schools With school choice programs ascendant not just in Iowa but across the U.S., Cedar Rapids offers a preview of who wins and who loses when education meets the free market.

The war on public schools, including systematic underfunding & shifting funding away from public schools, especially to charter and private schools, is part of the mission of re-segregating America.

Thank you 🥹
It IS really hard to go against "the way it's always been done" in City Hall, but if we don't, we risk recreating the systems we're here to fight against.

I'm grateful for your appreciation because I'm not the flashiest councilor and that's because I care more about longevity 🫶🏾

Girl just worry about the transportation package, city councilors can’t even ask their colleagues to sponsor a bill without breaking quorum because of this extremely bad policy 😭

Between this and her "memo to fix the schools instead of funding them" without even talking to education leaders is yet another reason she's a bad governor. Yuck!

My view is that the US auto industry is in for a Japanese imports in the 80s shock, where US car companies find out they are making cars people no longer want to buy and lose out to competition from better made cars. I reiterate my opinion that the first EV car that I ever buy will be a Chinese EV.

"Apparently, IBR officials don’t intend to tell us how much money tolls will produce, or what toll levels will be–until after we make an irrevocable commitment to move forward with the $15 billion project."

This will be the situation for the US post-Trump too.

The energy transition (which remains ongoing) making electricity much cheaper / less volatile seems to me one big way. For one thing, it will probably spell the end of dealership bros who support politicians like Trump.

We’ll need this in the US too.

Prosecute every Trump regime official who gave illegal orders or followed them, including military & DHS criminals.

Prosecute everyone involved in every corrupt swindle & bribe.
