I'd put it just below Ballad of Easy Rider, but yeah it's great.

She used to post a fair bit over on the old E6 Townhall site - seems like a really nice person too.

Great stuff. Wish she had done more of her songs on the Apples.

Ha yeah I suppose. Bloody Victorians!

Victorians? Sounds like every Listed Building entry of any medieval church.

⚒️ Stonemasons Update!

Our team is carving 12 new grotesques for the presbytery, inspired by medieval riddles from The Exeter Book. Masons are now crafting 1:1 clay models to guide the final stone carvings. It’s a rare honour to bring these local Anglo-Saxon texts to life.

Was hoping it was H for Hentor (Warren), but still interesting though!

How far back in time can you understand English? An experiment in language change

If you liked this experiment, I published a full piece today in the same vein: a text that gets 100 years older with every section, from a modern blog post to a medieval chronicle.

It's a single story spanning 1000 years of English. See how far you get.

Oh really? That's great news. Saw him a few years ago in Bristol playing all new stuff and then nothing, just disappeared.

I wonder whatever happened to him?

I love how It's all so wonky when you see it in person. It's great obviously, but also a bit rubbish. Mostly great though.

Thanks to @thefnl.bsky.social this exceptionally rare Tudor map of Kingsbridge in Devon has been acquired for public research at the Devon Heritage Centre, after more than four centuries in private hands.

As long as we're talking rabbit warrens and not your fancy pants free warrens.

Ooh easily one of my favourite warren sites (er, yeah niche I know). Possibly post-medieval rather than medieval, but a great site either way!

I only discovered the other day that the Never Before version is a different mix. Much more listenable, though still not exactly amazing.

I really like the surrounding albums, but I've never really been able to get into this one that much. It just sounds too spindly or something. I realise that's an unpopular position for a SY fan though!

So I'm guessing you won't be doing a Christmas singles poll then?!

5 months ago 1 0 1 0

That's the one. The band are playing surrounded by little kids. You don't see that about 100 times every Christmas?! It's seared into my brain.

Oh god it's just come to me - he reminds me of one of the kids in Wizzard's Christmas single video!

Less Shop Assistantsy, but yeah I liked that a lot. I'll have to check them out propertly. And the kid in that video really reminds me of someone and I can't think who and now it's annoying me no end. So thanks!

Never heard any of those. Really like the Charlottes - sounds like Shop Assistants. Anyway, Charlottes and Cud for me.
