This morning's Norwich entertainment has been a full rendition of West Side Story by the rooks gathered in the big tree in Tombland and a gang of passing seagulls. Fewer melodies. ☆☆☆

BBC New article extract: Travelodge boss offers to meet sexual assault victim Boydell said: "I am deeply sorry for the significant distress experienced by the victim. "We have apologised to her for the way the incident has been handled and have invited her to meet with us to discuss how we can further improve our procedures.

You smashed it. I just cried after packing up Joe's car. My other get-out's not until tomorrow morning by which time I'm not sure I'll be able to form actual words.
Award nominated! Mental Health Foundation Fringe Award 2025. Joe Tracini: 10 Things I Hate About Me. Picture of Joe standing in front of audience, waving.
Only 3 more chances to catch the AWARD NOMINATED show Joe Tracini: Ten Things I Hate About Me.
It's AWARD NOMINATED. 8.25pm tonight, Sat and Sun. Underbelly Bristo Sq.

I can't do DMs on here as I'm not ok with the age verification system and what data it accesses, but I'm firstname dot surname at norwich theatre dot org
Hello, I met Chris earlier this week at Mervyn Stutter (I'm producing Joe Tracini). I'm unlikely to be able to make it, but are you filming it? Even on a phone would be useful to see.
Slight change of plan - over at Dome for a wee bit, back at Courtyard around 1.15ish
No worries - it's been a busy month - I've spotted you in the distance a fair few times but never nearby enough to say hello!
I've not scheduled anthing this morning (til 2pm) and am in Pleasance Courtyard if anyone's about and wants a chat. I'm a UK venue programmer, also producing shows here at Pleasance & Underbelly, and previously worked for the Fringe Society. Black jacket, black top, curly hair tied back.

Thanks so much - hope you enjoy!
Ah I like Greenside! I'm no longer the Fringe Central queen, but am scouting for 3 venues and have 2 shows - Spy Movie: The Play at Pleasance (family comedy but not children's comedy - does that count?) and Joe Tracini: Ten Things I Hate About Me at Underbelly.
Where's the show you're directing and how long are you in town?
A female spy stands centre, fingers pointwd like a gun. A pop-gun BANG flag sticking out. Around her a huge explosion, a matchbox car speeding away, a toy heicopter suspended from above, 2 toy parachutists descending, a phonecall being handed from one side and a clapperboard at the other sayong Spy Movie The Play
The clock is ticking, disaster is imminent… and the only hope left is a spy story held together with duct tape and sheer determination. SPY MOVIE: The Play! is a no-holds-barred comedy caper bursting with low-budget brilliance and big laughs.

Joe, a man with dark hair and glasses, wearing a red & black leotard and dance shoes leaping in the air. A sparkly logo Joe Tracini: Ten Things I Hate About Me
How about a comedy show about hope. And also: mental illness, bad ideas, good liars, Lorraine Kelly... But mostly hope.
Joe lives with Borderline Personality Disorder. This show is what happened when he tried to understand it without exploding.

You know there's always one thing you forget to pack...? Just going to have to power through!
3 more hours Hamza!
It's not... it's Edinburgh.
That's a Jonny & the Baptists song I think
My Edinburgh train is full of scouts heading to a camp somewhere. Please god let it be somewhere 1 stop away....
It's silly season! Today I've already checked in with Emmy Happisburgh and the Second Summer of Love team in Stage Two, and Harry Baker who is doing 2 shows over at the Playhouse. Now I'm away on a 6-hour train journey to Chester to rehearse Spy Movie: The Play!'s hour-long version for Edinburgh.
If you think your work is a good fit please do let me know. I tend to get flooded with suggestions so may not respond to every one (though I do try!), but I do read them all and I frequently change up my diary if something looks like it has potential for us.
Show posters for Spy Movie and Joe Tracini. In Joe's, he is dressed in a sparkly dance leotard leaping in the air. In Spy Movie, a woman stands in Bond pose with her fingers held up like a gun. Around her, an explosion, a toy car driving away, two parachutists (plastic toys), a hand holding out an old-style brick mobile phone, a toy helicopter, and a clapperboard which says Spy Movie: The Play!
This year we are producing:
Spy Movie: The Play! At Pleasance Courtyard
Joe Tracini: Ten Things I Hate About Me at Underbelly Bristo Square

Lynn Faces poster image. Four middle aged women in snazzy cardigans holding musical instruments. Pink logo in punk style.
Last year we co-commissioned Lynn Faces by Laura Horton with New Diorama Theatre and Theatre Royal Plymouth. Laura won the Birds of Paradise Exceptional Theatre Award (Neurodiverse Review Awards 2024) for Lynn Faces.
Across all scales I’m looking to expand and diversify the programme in all directions and will be particularly looking for work that reflects the themes & issues relevant to our times and work made by people from backgrounds that have historically been under-represented.
Theatre Royal is 1,300 seats and mainly mainstream, commercial shows but with the occasional one-night Fringe production that has wide appeal. From EdFringe recently we programmed Brendan Murphy's Buffy Revamped.
Egs of a few of the theatre shows we programmed from EdFringe:
Rewind (Ephemeral Ensemble)
Failure Project (Yolanda Mercy)
It’s the Economy, Stupid (Worklight)
Revenge: After the Levoyah (Nick Cassenbaum)
You're So F**king Croydon! (Katie Hurley)
The Long Run (Katie Arnstein)
Stage Two. A black box studio theatre with tiered bench seating.
Stage Two is 120 seats and is a space to explore intimate stories and walk in other people's shoes. Particularly in that space I’m looking for storytelling shows, compact dramas and subjects with social impact.
Egs of just some of the theatre shows we programmed from EdFringe:
Chalk Line’s The Chaos That Has Been...
Still Hungry's Show Pony
Gerel Falconer’s Tones: A Hip-Hop Opera
Out of the Forest's Boris III
Temper Theatre's Home
Ugly Bucket’s Good Grief
201 Dance Company's Sad Book
