This is a nationwide phenomenon. The centrists and normies are more viciously angry than the socialists and anarchists, who gave up long ago on the illusion of a working system. Would encourage leftists of all stripes to take it seriously, welcome them in while they’re receptive.

The problem with Newsom, more than any actual political position, is that he looks for all the world like an American Keir Starmer.

Fun to see how the erroneous predictions line up with how the crypto super PACs were spending.

I've spoken before about how Polymarket — despite its PR claims about being more accurate than polls — is often a better signal of what crypto holders WANT to have happen.

lost like $166 on the strike even though my pregame position was correct

ah well as long as my BIG position doesn't get whacked

I wonder how much of Western civilization's collapse is downstream of writers and scriptwriters deciding they were too cool and sophisticated to write about good people doing good things.

Civilisation has been in a moral and artistic nosedive ever since they made it possible to play as Bowser in Mariokart, and win races for evil

march might be an unlucky month to try this measurement but both of these points are underwhelming

counterpoint: it only looks good if you bought in after the huge dive it took a couple months ago

if you buy at a peak, it looks awful. and that's what most people do: jump on the bandwagon at the top of the hype cycle

it's impossible for most people to benefit from crypto bc it's negative sum

I am VERY tempted to write another long post about how the decision in the 1970s not to establish a Norway-style sovereign wealth fund in favour of simply using the oil money to prop up finances at the time, has done more damage to the UK than any other decision in history. LONG THREAD, SORRY.

Some Tech CEO every day: "You don't get to own things now. I own your refrigerator. If you say mean things about me I will turn off your fridge and spoil all your dairy and eggs and meat. If you don't like it you go to jail."

People in my mentions: "Lmao are you REALLY a luddite? smh"

Joe Rogan calls trans people "f**king perverts" & blames them for school shootings - LGBTQ Nation He's the world's most popular podcaster.

Remember how Joe Rogan was "just asking questions" about trans women and sports and didn't have a problem with trans people otherwise?

He's now a full on anti-trans genocidal fascist.

There is a reason you hold the line at sports.

But if it really is 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th and you're pitching for Italy. If the Mexican batter squares to bunt the automatic runner to third, you'd be a damn fool not to go along with it.

If the WBC ever arrives as baseball's answer to the World Cup, something like Barbados-Grenada would absolutely be on the table. But I doubt that a team of Italian-Americans who will play a season in front of American fans will actually deliberately lose for Team Italy's survival.

1 month ago 1 0 1 0

4-4 in the 10th is also weird! If Italy doesn't score, they (probably) are eliminated if Mexico scores without making an out. But if Mexico makes an out, now Italy survives by losing again.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

Imagine it's 3-3 in the 9th. Scoring for Italy is risky! If they don't score, Italy can guarantee they advance by allowing exactly one run. They could guarantee this by walking the run in!

On the other hand, if they score, they would be knocked out by a 2-run bottom of the ninth for Mexico.

Potential for perverse scenarios in Italy-Mexico at the WBC.

Italy advances with a win OR by allowing 4 runs or fewer in regulation (5 if they get 1 out in the 10th).
