Just discovering #repostyourart challenge! Today's theme is sparkly. This gouache painting from a couple years back has a metallic gold underpainting and it peeks thru with warm sparkles in the wood, books, between leaves, and the wall. I truly love it and I might be sad when it gets bought 🤪

Consider doing the leaves on a layer of drafting film!

A plate of Ethiopian cuisine: injera, kinche, kik, asa wat, and more! It's colorful and comforting food.
We revived our old tradition of Ethiopian food for Easter, inspired by visits to fantastic authentic restaurants and recipes in a favorite cookbook. A ton of work (injera is a multi day process!) but so tasty and comforting. Of course our actual Ethiopian friends are celebrating Easter next week!

We did some democracy ✅ along Parker Road with several hundred new friends. Untold numbers of supportive honking and waving drivers, several truckers with nice loud horns, got blasted with exhaust by only 3-4 macho mobiles, and flipped off only 46 times (11yo kept count). A good day! #nokings

#40daysofgoodshit today was my little dancer (in green here) finding out she gets to move up to the next level of ballet next fall 🥳 we were very anxious about this since she auditioned two weeks ago, and it's a big relief.

Today's #40daysofgoodshit features this slight throwback to last week when my kid got to play bassoon in his band at Disneyland--a once in a lifetime travel opportunity 🥰 Thanks to everybody who paid him to teach piano lessons, or bought a mattress, caramels, socks, or lemonade to help raise funds!

My #40daysofgoodshit post for today is that I put some time in on this personal project, a carbon dust painting of a piece of driftwood, done on two sided drafting film. This gives me the option of adding some color to the back later. It's so fun to push and pull with carbon and erasers!

#40daysofgoodshit for today is this solid four inches of snow we got! Only about 1/2 inch was called for. We put in a bunch of cold season crops Saturday when it was 60+ so this is wonderful free slow irrigation. Keep it coming, sky!! 🌱

For #40daysofgoodshit today a truly momentous occasion: we have adopted a pygmy hedgehog!!! My daughter has wanted one for years and someone at our church decided to give hers up as she is in high school and very busy. He will get a heck of a lot of attention here! Meet Waffles Dangerpants Hass.

My #40daysofgoodshit today was this flock of wild turkeys that loitered on our block for seriously 5+ hours. Will report back if they are still around in the morning; they were in our trees at dusk. They can jump fences, turns out! Last pic is them in/on my yard and fence. There were 18 or so!
