Speaking of... residents of North Somerset should respond to the libraries funding consultation currently running.

Three of our smaller regional libraries are at risk of closure, as are services at some of the others.
Can confirm. #librarians #booksky
I haven't been very active on social media this year due to health issues. Still alive though!
Hope everyone is doing okay. Tell me something fun or cool from your 2025.
A pasty white vampire in a black and red cloak sips a blood cocktail on the beach. He does not look happy. Caption reads "Me suffering through the heat patiently waiting for Halloween." Watermark credit: The Narcoleptic Goddess
I wake up in the morning. I sit at my computer. The internet screams at me that the world is on fire. I am overwhelmed by the deluge of bad news and faceplant in front of the computer.
I would like this comic I drew in 2017 to stop being relevant pleeeaaaaase
Unsolicited writing advice, #17171617:
Don't just write. Read books. Watch films. Look at paintings and sculpture. Play games. Go to plays. Listen to music. Think about how these things make you feel.
Making art is a two-way stream. To make art, you have to consume art.
Today I used algebra to solve a graphic design problem
Be careful out there kids, math will get you when you least expect it

“Is it okay for a social media platform to be an echo chamber” back in the day we had websites and websites were generally focused on a single topic and if you were into that topic you would visit that website and if you weren’t into that topic you just didn’t go on that website and it was fine
Learning from the masters.
Helen, a cute tortoiseshell cat with no eyes and minimal tortie markings, “loaf” shaped on a rug.
I have a big ask from our local partner shelter. Beautiful, sweet blind cat Helen has had three approved adopters, but when the time comes to take her home, none of them have showed up. Can we find Helen a loving home at last? She’s been there since she was a baby! www.petfinder.com/cat/helen-71...
Fellow torties Maple and Pecan send their love from across the ocean and wish Helen luck in finding her forever home.
Someone ordered a signed copy of my book through my website to be shipped to someone else, and this tiny thing has made my whole damn year 🥰🥰🥰
A Cadbury Roses tub filled with pain killers and flu medicine. A bottle of cough syrup and a packet of Jakeman's throat sweets are on the table behind.
Season's greetings!

Wrote 1500 words this morning. I think that earns me a nap.
That's how it works, right?

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳
I've been taking a little break from my WIP while it's with my beta readers. Today I started working on a new short/novelette with the same characters. It's a fully formed plan of an idea, so I'm hoping to bash out a draft fairly quickly.
It's about a haunted bus stop🚏

So we can go public now - @rozc.bsky.social and I will be accepting novella submissions for @wtpress.bsky.social early next year. And congrats to @queex.bsky.social @bethkesh.bsky.social @dergullen.bsky.social and Juliet Kemp!
Cake? What cake? 🤣
I'm assuming the eating of the cake was unsanctioned?
Please can we hear the story of what happened to the original cake? 🙏
