I had a sense the new crew who took over last year were struggling. But it’s incredibly sad to have it end like this.

#nanowrimo starts in one month, and the absence of anything is notable. There are no MLs, no forums, no merch, no participant icons, no excitement, no attempt to regain community trust. There's no reason for writers to support the org anymore.

I know a lot of you want to keep writing a book in a month. Please do! It's a great experience.
If you do, DO NOT use the #nanowrimo name or hashtag in a positive way. It sucks, I know, because community is part of the experience, but it also builds NaNo HQ's brand.

The Global Write In Crawl (GWIC) kicks off today at 8am EST! Come write with us on an epic train ride adventure! We'll (virtually) visit 18 different locations with a total of 21 stops. Each stop is 2 hrs long with a 1 hour break for travel in between. All happening on the GWIC Discord server.
