So cool!!
A message from Tuna Acisu asking for help maintaining cherry blossom record in Kyoto Japan.
A figure showing the cherry tree record since 812 from world in data.
A 1200+ year climate record is at risk. Do you know know anyone in Japan who could help? See below.
I’ve only seen season 1 but it’s very good!

Thankful to Brian and his team for doing this important work, then giving clear and actionable advice:

just to be clear, everyone, when 8 pm EDT comes and goes, regardless of what does or does not happen, the president still threatened genocide and war crimes and we should still impeach, arrest, and try him
Today is a good day to remember that Carl Sagan was as outspoken about the dangers of war and nuclear weapons as he was an advocate of space exploration.
If you’ve never called your congressional reps before, do it right now.
If anyone on here works at one of the 57 forest service research stations that are going to be closed and you want to tell me about your work there and why it's important, reach out: jmckenzie@thebulletin.org
Hmmm interesting points! I think I’ll push back a bit on the 2D only. Increasingly, LiDAR and other data types give us 3D data. The old data issue I think isn’t a unique problem with GIS either but certainly biases us to specific time intervals for sure!
Speaking as a GIS Ecologist

How its going:
Have my science communicator friends filled out our survey yet? Please take a few minutes and help our research team understate the state of the field. #SciComm 🧪
I've known Maren since undergrad! She's so talented and kind. Please check this out!!
We're hiring?

Check out these opportunies to work at NCEI. I'm a "USA Jobs Survivor" so happy to impart wisdom (and rants) if you want them

This whole line of thinking is just insane to me. If you don’t want to participate in educating and mentoring the next generation of scientists and thinkers you are welcome to choose a different profession.
This is in your lab manual?
@davidho.bsky.social is absolutely right. NCAR isn't just a great institution in its own right, but vital for all of us Earth scientists at universities and institutions across the country and around the world. To learn more, watch the video below. Write to NSF_NCAR@nsf.gov today and #SaveNCAR !
I love the big goofy guys!!!!!
If any news outlets are covering this and want to talk to a trans Genomics PhD who specialized in human genetics and the evolution of sex, please reach out to me
This is complete nonsense scientifically. It's fascist eugenics, not biology
Setting a horrifying precedent for genocide
Foreign policy would be so much simpler with more wind and solar power
"These workers are required to stare at horrific content for many hours straight with few mental health resources, are largely managed by opaque algorithms, and, crucially, are the workers powering the runaway valuations of some of the richest and most powerful companies in the world."
Boo!!
Was not expecting a LIBRARY as a battlefield!
