More to the point: the policy outcome here is one you and I are both happy with. I respect if you didn't like our approach/strategy - really, I do - but posting like this when we've ended up where we all wanted to end up feels like picking a fight for the sake of picking a fight.
The story is written more or less straight because we were the first to break it so prioritized providing proper context. Nothing in there matches the level of negativity you're projecting on it.
Perhaps we just fundamentally disagree on the value of scrutinizing elected officials, and that's fine, but that's what I understand as the role of journalism & how I've practiced it for 10+ years. That doesn't change because the mayor is now one of the good guys. And today showed that it works.
I'm frustrated because I have known you a long time and I don't think these criticisms are fair. We covered this crackdown for a year, more than anyone, publicly held the mayor accountable when it continued on his watch & celebrated (literally popped champagne) when it ended.
We have asked these questions repeatedly and will continue to try to get them answered, but they are secondary to today's news that the crackdown is ending.
BTW our story literally said "making good on his campaign promise"...
Would you have preferred we kept silent when the criminal summonses continued on his watch?
Look at my accountant dawg, Iโm going to jail
I'm wearing my Knicks hat today
Brace yourself
Wizards are primed for him tho
Big tech companies like Uber have been spending big to deregulate auto insurance in New York state, at the expense of crash victims, and Gov. Hochul is pushing their cause in the name of "affordability." nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/01/22/c...
His comment is in the story.
Gov. Hochul is pushing an Uber-backed proposal to make it harder for car crash victims to receive compensation for their injuries under the guise of affordability โ and with the support of the new mayor.

We are changing it to "has not announced anything."
fwiw i think the tracker is not being received with the level of hostility you perceive. DOT told us they thought it was funny.
okay

noted!
One of the biggest tells of how blatantly screwed up medicine's mishandling of chronic illnesses is comes from physicians who end up suffering from them pretty much all saying that it's nothing like what they were taught it's like and no one else in the profession is bothered by that.
thanks for flagging. we will discuss.
Understood. We may add "yet" to this in response to your feedback.
