It's clear that #5debutalbums7579 is going to be like the Red Wedding in GoT. Siouxsie& The Banshees - The Scream (1978) After the delay to be signed, The Banshees debut was worth the wait. Whisper it, but the guitar/drums from the pariahs Morris/McKay are incredible. A daring post punk classic.

Having been born during this period, I wanted to start my listening with the first album off my list released during my lifetime. The winner was Devo, whose fantastic debut was released in the US when I was five days old.

Ah, Slaughter and the Dogs.
Where have all the boot boys gone? is a classic - I spent months hunting that one down back in the day. Love the album, but such is the strength of this round that it won’t make my top 30.
