gawking at the decision to pay reporters to uncover explosive, fascinating untold news stories, then put an AI summary of the comments above the details of the story, in this case speculating on the truth of the reporting.
as if a computer summarizing reader opinion is as important as the reporting

If you search "Erin Moriarty" on Google, the first two autocompletes are "face" and "disease." This would have been a great option for a topic thats been discussed extensively over recent years instead of continuing to shit on "the Starlight woman." Women's appearances are attacked enough.
I am spending more time at a computer than I have in years thanks to papers and grading and whatever so I keep trying to improve my ergonomics and man, I was not prepared to find yet another area with so little relevant information and resources for anyone above average height π
A whole lot more data points for my research on the shifting goalposts and inconsistent application of journalistic norms when it comes to marginalized groups π«
Not to mention about six articles about the Wings in the past few years and the topics are if Clark-Bueckers can be "The WNBA's Magic-Bird" and "Can Paige Bueckers do for Dallas what Clark did for the WNBA" like make the cherry picking and engagement baiting less obvious
His column yesterday in response should tell people all they need to know about whether it was asked in good faith and yet
Sorry to my classmates, I promise I'm not as insufferable as I seem (I hope)
I've spent so much of my life enthralled by collegiate athletics, the good and the bad, infrastructure to impact and beyond. I finally get to take a class on the subject and I sit down to write a discussion post and end up with a damn dissertation.
Again: for any big liberal donor who wants to funnel millions into fixing this country's politics, the ROI on buying any struggling paper and simply tasking it with doing real reporting on local news is vastly higher than the same $$ given to some group that does mass ad buys every election year.
Oops calm and COMPOSED same diff
First time seeing the Marriott x NCAA commercial since the weekend and that "Stay CALM, stay COLLECTED" hits different now π

One of very few 'deficiencies' this season for South Carolina has been defensive rebounding, allowing opponents to rebound nearly 30% of their misses (126th in d1)
UCLA, the 2nd-best offensive rebounding team in the country by %, has 10 offensive rebounds on 20 missed shots in the first half
South Carolina takes down a previously unbeaten UConn, UCLA outlasts Texas, and our Sunday showdown is set. Megan Gauer and @jsteyz.bsky.social take you through the ins, the outs, and everything in between in Friday nightβs Final Four.

Officiating? Basketballs? Rims? Nerves? Schedule? All of the above? Whatever is to blame for these offensive offensive performances, can we like... Figure it out? I beg!
Even if you removed BC from the equation this is an impressive draft. Tapped in!
Critics allege that teleportation is not a thing that happens.
We'll have to leave it there.
I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines.
Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."
Finally submitted a research-in-progress conference presentation proposal that's consumed my life for most of 2026 so I can FINALLY take a breath... and open some spreadsheets I've been itching to put together π
Definitely not uncommon but same situation for all three freshmen not playing in that game and looking at their game logs, Michigan has only put them in at the end of wins, not losses. So maybe still an issue if theyre displeased with that practice but at least its consistent.
That is a tough spot to be in, though, bc if someone isn't in heavy rotation against typical competition, they probably won't fare well in that spot and that can be really discouraging. Not really an easy answer, just my usual refrain of "it's all about communicating!"
Oldacre got the crowd going more than any moment thus far with the floater down the lane and yet she just looked annoyed Rori dumped it to her so late in the clock π€£
"We can't/refuse to even try to figure out what people will pay for" =/= "people won't pay for content"
I hate the construction of the tournament balls anyway, then for them to not be broken in π€’
Watching Cowles' shot hang on the rim for over a second seems to reinforce the rims being crazy tight
Notre Dame prioritizing getting the whole team involved early, that's certainly their win condition
Appreciate the hell out of this and 10000% agree.
@brittanycarper.bsky.social is about to pull up next week like "Yeah she's on Bennett's list of jerseys he wants" π€£
I don't watch network TV so times like March Madness bring so many jarring experiences in seeing what they put on air these days, like wdym American Idol has a "songs of faith" night and every break has some new true crime exploitation material??
