This pasta is always a massive hit for something so seemingly simple. Ricotta is dolloped in near the end but not stirred or cooked (because we love finding the unmixed pockets later) and then finished with olive oil, lemon juice, parmesan, and mint.

Iconic, decadent dark chocolate sablés with a gentle, buttery snap from Dorie Greenspan and Pierre Hermé are a need, not a want. I recently refreshed the recipe, satisfying my need to make them a tiny bit larger and use an even block of butter.

New! A dream of a spring lentil dish with braised leeks, a garlicky yogurt sauce and an arugula salad. The ingredient list is short, it's weeknight-friendly, and while the slice of toasted sourdough isn't a requirement, it sure is fantastic to pile all of this on.

Eggs baked in spicy tomato sauce with kale and chickpeas, too, weeknight perfect and budget-friendly if you, too, hated filing your taxes today. Thank you @hettymckinnon!

This restaurant-style avocado salad has the most unmissable, habit-forming carrot-ginger dressing and makes enough for leftovers, which is good because we are going to want to eat it again tomorrow and all the warm days after that.

This charming pink cake I fell in love with in 2008 just got even better: explosive with strawberry flavor and fragrance and more moist than ever. The best part? You don’t even need to wait until strawberry season because it uses frozen strawberries.

A sliced egg on a butter-toasted challah roll with a sharp creamy dijon-horseradish spread, a layer of crunch or pickle, and a heap of arugula. Unable to shake free of this breakfast/lunch preoccupation, I’m sharing it with you so you can join me. Enjoy!

A delightfully de-fussed cottage cheese pancake — one bowl, no separated eggs, just a fluffy, tender, perfect weekend breakfast.

This is my tweaked-until-perfect forever margarita: tart but balanced, just barely sweet. Fresh lime juice makes a huge difference here, and the chile-salt rim makes it feel almost, dare I say, like a distant summer vacation. Happy Friday, friends.

A 10-minute meal from doctored-up cans of beans and artichokes, treated like pasta. The result is a warm, almost creamy bean salad that you can finish with parmesan and eat with a fork straight from a bowl, or ladle over slices of toasted baguette.

Crispy, spiced patties with yogurt sauce, pitas, and sometimes a little tomato-cucumber salad too take all of 30 minutes to make and are never not a good idea.

An April cold front requires soup, and I vote for this one: my go-to weeknight-friendly (i.e. everything is done, including the nonnegotiable grilled cheese alongside, in under an hour) tomato soup. Store bought cherry tomatoes do the heavy lifting here.

Crisp outside, marshmallow-like inside, and cluttered with a not-insignificant amount of chocolate chips, my mom's meringues are forever flourless and a fantastically simple way to use up leftover egg whites.

A simple but exceptional sausage and potato roast that gets a lift from roasted shallots and a heap of peppery arugula, an easy sheet pan meal for busy days.

This is my favorite asparagus salad: fresh, green, crunchy, and bright. I add chopped medium-cooked eggs and eat it on toast, on matzo, or right out of the bowl. Repeat again tomorrow.

Every craggy edge and erratic angle of these restaurant-style potato nuggets get perfectly browned and transcendently crunchy with this cooking technique, which could not be simpler. I hope they make all of your holiday brunch hopes and dreams come true.

One of my favorite brunch dishes of all time, eggs are baked in nests of lightly creamed spinach, mushrooms and parmesan. Scaled down in a skillet, it’s also great for lunch and dinner.

"Brisket"-braised chickpeas -- that is, with all of the flavors of my favorite meaty braise -- with not a speck of brisket involved. This vegan dish is a perfect cozy and hearty holiday main.

This flourless, gluten-free, 5-ingredient cake (7 with optional cream and berries) that leaves you with no leftover egg yolks or whites is my kind of spring miracle, and that's before you even taste the deeply toasted pecans, brown butter, and vanilla.

If you think coconut macaroons are terrible, I think it's because you're not making these, which are marbled with fresh raspberries, a cinch to make, and as pretty as a bundle of spring flowers.
