I got home after spending time with my sister. Was holding it together for her. But the second I saw my boys, I lost it. They let me hug them, a rare teenager thing, and they knew I needed them in that moment. I hate they saw me like that. But I’m also glad they did. I’m so lucky to have them.

My heart is so broken. My sister is besties with his sister. He was the dj in my wedding. She was a loud advocate for mental health. Their boys were wonderful. My sister was a babysitter for them. My mom, my sis. Both completely devastated. Hope to never have these calls again.

Last night, an old friend killed his wife and their two sons and then himself. One of which was set to graduate today. My mom was putting cash in a card for him when I called to tell her.

Man. Some awful awful news from my hometown. I don’t even know what to do/say.

16 hour day yesterday. Back opening the shop today and getting 2 caterings ready. Then I’m done. First week since opening my store without my kitchen manager. Been an adjustment but it’s nice to be back in the thick of things. Been a busy 2 days for sure!

Had to close the shop today because 3 events over 4-500 people. I’m kinda ok with it. First week without my morning kitchen guy who had been with me since opening the store. Definitely an adjustment period.
