Things of note today, 4/12: It’s Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls’ b-day (celebrated in song), taxes are done, the Torrent have an open hockey practice which the other 2/3 of the household are attending, plans made for travel to Filkconbobulated in late June, and I’ve lost 25% of my former body weight.

The more we look at the names that are definitely coming, the more excited we get. We can't wait to see you this summer!

We were informed that the original space for the con suite had been double booked. So instead of being upstairs, the con suite will be right across the hall from the rest of the con space. I love it when a plan comes together!
Registration is open, follow the link on filkconbobulated.org. If there are any questions or problems, let us know.
We are still looking for help with sound, mostly stage prep.
We do want to do an instrument petting zoo. Let us know if you are going to bring something nifty for folks to play.
This is an official notice from FilkCONbobulated headquarters in the Crowe & Dove House deep in the wilds of Iowa!
Room reservations and registrations continue quite well. The room reservation cut off is June 4 so get in there and get your room reserved to make sure you get the convention rate.
So much this.
About to vacate the Norwescon hotel after a TERRIFIC weekend. Thank you, thank you, to everyone who participated in the music track(s) in any way whatsoever. YOU are why this work is fun and so rewarding 🎶
You guys ROCKED. Thank YOU for being here 💖🎶
Mount Shasta, you are magnificent!
Right there with you, especially after a very unpleasant first encounter with (I suspect) said person.
For me it was taking over as solo choir director at my church after two of us shared the job. But I got only 75% of the total salary (which was the same for 20 years!) because I was “a married woman who wasn’t responsible for supporting my family” (i.e. I was working for *fun*). Then it got worse…
Making a reservation at most National Parks seems increasingly difficult these days unless you’re planning waaaaay in advance.
That’s awesome! Congrats!
Our local newspaper is free and weekly; we pick it up as often as possible.
Actually, yes!
1) Thanks. I practice a lot.
2) Your “B” is out of tune.
Today I committed a wonderful Spoonerism; instead of saying I walked into it “with eyes wide open” I said “ with wise eyed open”. Still makes sense when I think about it.
*hugs*
I’m not complaining. It’s not winter without a little snow, even in the PNW!
Hey! There’s white stuff on the ground this morning!
Topping off this insane trip with a cat puking in my bed at 4am and only three hours of sleep before that. Happy Solstice 🤣
On day 8 of 10 helping friends move across the country with a 26’ truck towing a trailer, a packed minivan, 3 humans, 2 dogs, & 3 cats. My life is a strange adventure.
How disappointing for Guides. GSUSA (Girl Scouts of the USA) still welcomes all girls who identify as girls, thank goodness.
Time for an all-day marathon (with a break for a yummy dinner)…
FABULOUS concerts!
Pretty much any version, vocal or instrumental, of Carol of the Bells.
Playing music with dear ones, crafting anything (especially to give away!), long conversations with friends, playing old-fashioned board & card games, tall trees.
