Especially when I used it for curves I was really struggling (and still am). But there it helped to draw guiding lines and do smaller stitches

My biggest problem at first was to even try it out cause I was afraid that it won’t look good. Then I finally tried and started with one strand (like every tutorial tells you). But it didn’t work out for me. So I tried using 2 strands. Et voila it worked out! Of course it still needed some practice.

Tbh since I figured out how to do long and short stitch properly I never used the splitstitch again 😅

You should really try it out! In the end it is all about testing different stitches with different amount of threads and find out what you need if you want to achieve a certain result.

The outlines are stemstitch and the filling is splitstitch (just the hat is satin stitch)
