I love broccoli & chickpeas served over rice and I could eat it every day. Little bit of olive oil, salt, cracked black pepper, chili flakes, and a vinegar based hot sauce rounds it out.

Simple food, filling, & reasonably healthy.

I think it is a leadership thing right now. Pham, historically, tends to speak his mind and does the work to win.

There are going to be #Mets fans complaining about the booing.

The team with the highest payroll in baseball just was swept at home by the West Sacramento A’s.

Don’t be a scold about people showing their displeasure.

Freddy Peralta completes the sixth for the first time this season on an even 100 pitches. Only blemish the Nick Kurtz solo HR in the third. Still waiting for help from a Mets offense without a baserunner since the first.

Tottenham are out of luck. Getting some might be the one thing that can save them Spurs could not claim to have been unlucky to lose at Sunderland — but to stay up, good luck is surely what they will need

Tottenham weren't good today. But they also weren't lucky. And they may need both of those things to change if they are to stay up.

My piece from Sunderland: www.nytimes.com/athletic/718...

When we picked him up, I asked a friend if Freddy was really an ace, and got a response of “he’s a good #2, lol” and I think about it often.

With #THFC’s loss, I need the #Mets to redeem my Sunday & and I have zero hope the Mets can do anything positive today.

I believe both clubs have similar issues related to urgency. I know they care, but neither too high or low is professionalism & the fans see that.

De Zerbi, in his statement regarding Mason Greenwood, said, “I am always on the right side,” and that he’s always been against violence. Regarding Greenwood, though he wasn’t on the right side. Both the strategic and tactical mistake, and own goal if you will, and not what this club needs.

#THFC plays in a little more than 3 hours. I’m going to go for a run with some of my friends. I will have the alerts on my phone. I want the club to be successful even as I think the appointment of De Zerbi was a mistake. #COYS

I allowed the Mets to give me a little bit of hope. To excite me. To make me think that they could come back.

Reading the interview with and excerpt from Lena Dunham in @theguardian.com regarding her new book has made me excited to read it. Yes, she can be divisive but she is also an excellent writer. The voice of her generation, well, a voice of a generation.

Oh, I am sorry. It wasn’t a flex on my part. They’ve just been an important band to me since ‘93. (I didn’t want that to rhyme like that.)

It’s so good from start to finish and the live version of the songs are as dynamic and engaging as the album versions. It was also the only tour that I saw them multiple times on.

After my run yesterday, I spent time getting my plants sorted. I repotted the peppers, trimmed back the herbs, and potted some onions & garlic that had gone to sprout. I need to finish sprouting my lentils & I need to add fresh soil to the asparagus patch.

I’m happy with my garden.

New York Radio Yutz Has Had It With Mr. Met's Antisemitism | Defector Were it not for the virtual certainty that he will be cast in a Safdie-directed film at some point, Sid Rosenberg is not a person who should be known by anyone who does not live in or around New York City. He is a type of public figure that every city has, although the fact…

My sincere thanks to the many people who let me know that Sid Rosenberg has renounced his Met fandom due to Mr. Met's antisemitism. This is the sort of thing I love to know about! defector.com/new-york-rad...

A history of marathon fueling We explore the chequered history of marathon fueling, from the early days of drinking poison to the modern day era of personalisation...

Via @semi-rad.com’s newsletter: seeing that it’s 10 days to Boston and that we have a local half marathon (Helderberg to Hudson, net downhill, super fun) I’m assuming that most people have locked in their nutrition.

My favorite? Skittles & Coca-Cola.

And Fireball during that one ultra.

I have noticed a change in the way that certain athletes are using social media. Where they used to ignore or offer anodyne statements related to the regime, something has changed. It’s refreshing.

It was such a gorgeous day and I decided that I would take my weight workout outside. Kettlebell warm-up with a nice throwing session and a kettlebell cool down.
