Release v7.1.0 · mobxjs/mobx-state-tree Breaking Changes None Features Support BigInt by @albyrock87 in #2282 Fixes Optimize applySnapshot for mostly unchanged snapshots by @anchmelev in #2285 Development/Community fix: repro link...

Give it a spin! github.com/mobxjs/mobx-...

We may have a few other improvements coming soon. Again, lots of community PRs recently. Keep it up.

It's been a while since MobX-State-Tree had a proper release (we have mostly slowed down development on it). But the last couple weeks have seen an influx of high quality PRs.

In particular, applySnapshot is up to two orders of magnitude faster on 7.1.0, with no API changes. Strictly perf gains.

I don’t think it’s accurate to say something got “quietly” shipped if a bunch of people are talking about it on LinkedIn lol

You Built an App This Weekend. Now What? AI got you 80% of the way there, and now you’re stuck.

Our team knows how to use AI.

More importantly, we know when it's important to step in.

Compliance, security, performance… the last 20% is where a seasoned engineer becomes critical.

Our own @joshuayoes.com recently wrote about this and it's worth the read 👇

I've known about the maxWorkers trick for a while, but a few months ago I sat down to dig into *why* it fixes things. This was a fun experimental set up. and if you are sick of blogs about AI, this one has none of that, so you may find it refreshing lol

Ok so I tried the Big Arch and I think I understand why that CEO video went so poorly. It’s too wide, doesn’t stay together easily. It’s an awkward sandwich to eat, and they made an awkward person eat it. Tastes fine but won’t replace my normal McDonalds order anytime soon

Isn’t it wild that a few years ago people were still sort of debating over TypeScript adoption, and now we’re like “hmm should I give my autonomous coding robot full permissions to my machine, or make it do PRs in the cloud that I have another robot read?”

if you believe in any form of free enterprise at all, the idea that the Pentagon can not only cut off your contract but designate you a supply chain risk and prevent other companies from buying from you just because you won't build killbots for the government should be terrifying

The idea that coding agents prove "learn to code was a mistake" is kind of analogous to thinking the printing press meant "psych! y'all wasted a lot of time learning how to write."

Computational thinking is getting easier to pick up, and also providing more leverage than before.

shipsite.sh — Static Site Hosting for LLMs Deploy static sites with one API call. Built for LLM agents.

We’re gonna want new modalities of configuring and paying for services. I’m tired of making tokens and giving them to Claude. So I made a static web host that treats LLMs as the primary interface. LLM requests a token, you pay with a Stripe link, LLM can use token to do stuff.

Yeah I tried containers but I just really like that I can walk over to the MacBook and unblock Claude when needed. Like a real coworker. Also useful for mobile build tooling like Xcode.
