What’s not so great and could prove problematic is that those communities are also in gated VC funded apps. Not like a forum someone is running on their own server which is much harder to shut down. While a discord server with years of history could go in seconds if they decide so.

It’s gotten so bad that I have pretty much 100% retreated to smaller communities for discussions and go on social media to doomscroll which I m trying to cut down. Social media just doesn’t seem worth it anymore. This app is way better still, but who knows how long that will last.

I started listening to Kaiju Preservation Society by @scalzi.com today and it made me go on a super long walk in the heat just to keep listening. 1/3 of the way it’s a lot of fun, has a bunch of interesting twists and is very self aware. Absolutely loving it! Bonus: Wil Wheaton is narrating.
