Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented.

They harvest and compress pre existing heat in the air, ground or water and transport it where it is needed.

That energy is all around us.

And it does not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

🌱 "Look at the tree. It is a wonderful thing, a tree. A tree is very beautiful. A tree to me is as beautiful as a cathedral, even more beautiful. I looked into the tree and I saw the whole cosmos in it." —Thích Nhất Hạnh

Plan for possible power outages if you live on Long Island, in southern Connecticut, southeastern Massachusetts or southern Rhode Island or on Cape Cod/the islands.

This storm, which is strengthening 70% faster than it needs to to be classified as a "bomb cyclone," is inhaling a LOT of air.

If you've had a salad this winter, chances are it was thanks to the farmworkers who wake up at 2 a.m. to pick lettuce by hand in Yuma.

This morning, I met these workers and joined them in the fields to hear directly from those men and women who work hard to feed their families and ours.

The first bald cypress tree seedling has emerged. Bald cypress trees are the wide-based, spanish moss-covered pines seen growning out of water in the south. This seedling is a 2nd generation tree from much farther north in New Jersey.

Even today's Florida freeze won't kill this rugged tree.

The bald cypress tree's extensive root systems and adaptability make them excellent for wetland restoration. They also help improve water quality by filtering pollutants and stabilizing soil.
