I know and appreciate that FFXIV is a thoroughly hopeful and optimistic story, but EW is that point of the story where I like to linger on the accumulating pressure of WoL as a "figurehead" and hero is becoming a burden on the psyche. I'm very much a sucker for "the person vs the icon" themes.

People are dunking on this guy but we really need to support and encourage people who make the decision to step away from AI. Like this is the goal!! For folk to realize and stop using it, even if they were to begin with!! This is a good thing!!

Def roll with the 'almost died' bit, but headcanon that most of the recovery was more from psychological exhaustion, and trauma from losing the Scions (temp as it might have been) and In From the Cold, and just the messed up headstate of a person who thought they'd be required to die at the end.
