This whole picture was made with pretty much 100% watercolor brush. It makes the process of digital painting feel actually enjoyable, and not some compromise in order to make more "finished" looking pieces. I could have taken this picture further, but I didn't :0

so I'm trying to have my cake and eat it too by drawing monster girl type art in my style lol.

I've been trying to do more work with feminine characters, because I want to be able to expand the kind of subject matter I paint, but it's really hard to not want to make everything I draw into some grotesque creature,

I've been playing around with subject matter and with the watercolor brush in SAI.

Drawing of a lil' homunculus :3 I am getting accustomed to the watercolor brush in Sai, it's really good! I like being able to switch back to the airbrush when I want a more decisive brushstroke, but the watercolor brush is so good for modeling, and it does it quick too : D

I have been feeling .burnt out. But I managed to horf this drawing out before succumbing. I get very burnt out when I have to work on something for extended periods of time, and the formulaic aspects of the line-to-color doesn't help my lack of creative stamina. Ah well, more drawings will come.

I love this picture, every aspect is so well done and cohesive. I especially love how you designed the fur. Love your work :3

"I would probabbly have an easier time marketing my work or making a living off my art if I was able to draw stuff that appealed to peoples desires in that regard. Something in me just is unable to push through and enjoy the process when I try to make that kind of work."

Cross posting this rant from reddit because there was one to many prudish comment about the "phallic" aspects in my work and I enjoyed venting in the rant so I'm putting it here too.

Maybe one day I'll muster up the courage to make something good.

These pictures I've been doing are pretty off the cuff in terms of ideas. I usually go really crazy in the sketch and tone it way down in terms of design because I tend to get exhausted thinking about all the detail i'll have to render.

I'm trying my darnedest to work on this picture but like everything I do is undercut with fatigue.
I wanna be a good artist and connect with people who enjoy my work. I'm glad I have a few eyes on my pictures.

I'll be doing more original work in the future, but I will probably do more Isaac fan-art because I am a fan of Isaac and I make art.

Speaking of the piece, I've been playing lots of tboi:rebirth and it's occupying a lot of space in my brain so this was just a doodle I took a bit further. Trying to focus on rendering and refining the forms that are already present when it's very tempting to add new ones.

The default airbrush feels better than any brush I've ever tried in any other program, for my workflow at least (do everything on one layer like a troglodyte) and my focus on rendering forms. All my digital art from now on will be in sai.

It's so much better than photoshop.
