Avoid. The environmental impact is not worth it - and artistically it results in a less "auteur experience", which is what I'm looking for in an indie game. I like to feel the decisions, vision and quirks of devs, which is where smaller teams have an advantage.

I can't easily handle fighting games when it comes to learning combos, or things with extremely deep/complex written tutorials. My brain simply cannot. It gets overwhelmed and/or my eyes gloss over.

There are always exceptions though!

Ahhh yeah, flashbacks are wonderful. So freeing and surprising and they can really speed things up! I'm also a HUGE fan of Resistance Rolls, and players Pushing themselves for +1d or a higher effect level. So empowering for players in a tight spot.
