They have no gods. They work magic, and think they are gods themselves. But they are not. And when they die, they become dust and bone, and their ghosts whine on the wind a little while till the wind blows them away. They do not have immortal souls.

Aquarius: You will be noticed this week. Noticed by all the people at the park as you lose a wrestling match with an elderly raccoon.

I've lived too many lives in the last four months. I know I've said I want to live every possible human experience.

I didn't mean in the span of half a year.

I came back from Colombia to France and temperatures decided to fall drastically the day I arrived. It snowed... In Paris, where it never snows. Am I cursed?

I became Senior VP at a multi-million dollar company at age 26. My salary was $600k. This was in 2018.
How did I do it?

Blacked out lines

CEO (my dad) promoted me to SVP.
There are no gimmicks. There are no shortcuts.

A medieval illustration of a hedgehog with grapes skewered on its spines

It was believed in medieval times that hedgehogs had spikes so they could roll over fruit to carry home to their children, which is not true but is a really cute idea

Might not finish 'The Magic Mountain' by Thomas Mann. I like long, philosophical reads, but this one feels off. Part of it is bc I grew up at 2600m in Bogotá, and this novel takes place at the 'mystical' height of... 1300m. It's too European for my Colombian ass. Maybe I'm missing the point but idc.

A writing schedule reads
530am wake up and lie there, 615am get up and eat breakfast (lots). 715am get to work writing, writing, writing. Noon lunch. 1 to 3pm reading, music. 3 to 5pm correspondence, maybe house cleaning. 5 to 8 pm make dinner and eat it.
After 8pm I tend to ve very stupid and we won't talk about this

I far prefer LeGuin's writing schedule.

I am become death.

One of the joys of collecting folklore is having conversations where lines such as: “When my sister spent some years transformed into a fox …” tumble out quite naturally. – #CLNolan #FolkloreSunday

"For me, so much of the value of horror is seeing characters stand up to forces far greater than themselves -- forces they often don't even fully understand. Characters in horror learn as they go. They adapt. At The Meeting, they share what they've learned. They come up with a plan. They don't always win. But they show us how to stand up."

Why I love horror.
