He holds he backpack in front of himself to shield himself. Panel 2: Shen, scared and sweating a bit, closes his eyes and says "I-I don't have lunch money today!" Panel 3: Sweating ever more, he opens up his backpack and says "BUT, um, I made this drawing of you."
