People may question the authenticity of some of these, but I've been called an expensive fruit many a time

SNL UK beat my low expectations and featured Ania Magliano in a suit so maybe comedy is back or something idk
Renate Reinsve's just dazzling, isn't she? I hope she gets her garlands, even if SV doesn't win overall
It's especially nice to see more well-crafted horror and international films in the running for BP, speaking as someone who adored both Sinners and Sentimental Value.
No better way to celebrate Friday night than making lasagne and watching National Theatre's Importance of Being Earnest.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a keymaster in possession of good fortune, must be in want of a gatekeeper
Basically right - the Greens aren't new but were behind the Lib-Dems (socially liberal, economically a coalition of social democrats and market liberals) as the progressive minor party option until the new leader set out their stall as being a home for ex-Labour voters.

There were a lot of old sci-fi novels in my house growing up, and I'd always wished I could explore the lavish, bizarre landscapes I saw on the covers. I think this might do the trick.
"I can hold my breath for ten minutes", especially the RtMI version - "In my prime, I could [etc]" "were you in your prime then?" "...Eight minutes"
If this is anything like their last game, this is something that will linger in the mind long after the credits roll. If On A Winter's Night Four Travellers was a dark, ornately crafted treat. Can't wait for this one.
We get it whenever a US chain opens here - we don't need a news article about Manchester getting a Popeye's when we have a Spätzle restaurant within walking distance of town

ONLY THE BRITISH FLEET STANDS BEFORE HIM
THERE IS NOTHING IN NAVAL LAW STATING THAT A GOLDEN RETRIEVER CANNOT SERVE HIS MAJESTY AS CAPTAIN
OCEANS ARE NOW BATTLEFIELDS
Very true, based on two things I have done in the past year that have immeasurably improved my wellbeing:
1. Painting a wall in my house with blackboard paint for drawing silly drawings whenever I want
2. Inviting friends over to play around with arts and crafts stuff regularly
Nobody says "huzzah" like him. Nobody.
RIP Nigel the business worm. He died doing what he loved (business, being a worm)

Made the mistake of trying to leave the house this weekend. I had to admit defeat and go home instead of going to the cinema. When it's too hot to sit in a dark room with a fan on, that's when you know it's bad.
You say that now, but just wait until somebody dances like nobody's watching. Then you'll be glad of it
there should be a consumer electronics review site called does it beep dot com and the sole criteria it uses to judge kitchen appliances, cars, washing machines, etc is whether it beeps at you and if so how annoying the beeps are

Kingdom of the Faeries is a delight. Melies' use of colour was just so vibrant
Paraphrasing, from someone with some difficult experiences: you're gentle enough that you're someone I feel really comfortable and safe saying no to
I forgot lunch existed for about two hours the other week, then wondered why I was hungry
Stephen Tobolowsky as the T-Rex. Wallace Shawn is busy playing Buzz. No other changes.
This needs fixing, by Toutatis!
It's nice to be reminded that history is not a straight line from censorious to permissive. I don't know why people like the myths so much, when the fact people were always trying to have fun and be risque with their art is so much more fun
I love this. I feel like a win would be having a smoothly run event while making sure the big dramatic moments can happen - distract everyone else with a parlour game so the mismatched couple can split up without spoiling the vibe.
Had a great time at yesterday's Twin Peaks S1 marathon at Cultplex (@cpxmcr.bsky.social). Forgot how much I love Pete Martell with his daft little face
