Day 20 - Something Hard To Lift
The Modern Lovers-Girlfriend
"If I were to walk to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston
Well, first I'd go to the room where they keep the Cézanne"
As museums go, this one's pretty heavy.

Quoth Dennis Franz: "What the heck is a Met?"
Every runner's nemesis.
90FM Trivia playing some really kick ass music this shift:
Modern Lovers-Roadrunner
Bowie-Queen Bitch
Joni Mitchell-Big Yellow Taxi
Cake-Mahna Mahna
Replacements-Color Me Impressed
Next door neighbor's team Ah Bin Hypmotized is in 23rd place with a bullet.
It's been raining for like a week. Levees have failed. Sturgeon are swimming down streets in Shiocton.
Is it okay to finally curse the rain?

18: A messy food
Descendents - Weinerschnitzel. Eleven seconds of messy, sloppy satisfaction.
"Yeah, I want
Two large Cokes, two large fries
Chili-cheese dog, large Dr. Pepper
Super Deluxe with cheese and tomato"

Day 17: an appliance
Robert Cray - I Guess I Showed Her
"Room 16 ain't got no view
But the hot plate's brand new"
Sad excuse for an appliance from a killer song off a perfect album.

Day 16: a hated fruit or vegetable
The Mothers - Call Any Vegetable
"Ruta-bay-ay-ayga..."
I do like them in Cornish pasties, though.

Day 15 - Body part (not eyes or heart)
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Cities in Dust
"Hot and burning, in your nostrils
Pouring down your gaping mouth"
The only song I'm aware of with nostrils, one of the 4 funniest words in English.
Lightnin' Licks & Thunder Thumbs, the Brothers Johnson.
Not likely to make my #5debutalbums7579, sadly, due to such stacked competition. But I've loved this album from the moment it was released in 1976.

Day 14: Something you read
Pylon - Read a Book
You could read this book, it wasn't the inspiration for the band's name (so they claim).
"Coast to coast LA to Woonsocket" makes more geographic sense, but doesn't roll off the tongue. Sade was right, as usual.
Me: man hopes to chat with interesting authors and readers, hopes they're selling beer on premise, and maybe sell a few books (in that order). Hope your event went well!
I really hope JD Vance pays a visit to the Chicago Bears this offseason.
Brewers are all foam, no beer.
I do like IPAs, although East Coast hazies are boring and need to go. But pubs offering big malty brews like maerzens, doppelbocks and Scottish wee heavies win me over forever.
Happy Friday, Richard! My #5DebutAlbums1519

Lions on the Ice Age Trail? Give me a good read and I’m not sweating it.
You can revel in the Trail, and not be mauled by lions, reading my novel The Freakin’ Destination. Buy your own copy at thebumblepoint.com.
Or you can hike the IAT. Honest, it’s great! But, you know, lions…
???
…ivorces his sorry orange ass?
…eported for immigration irregularities?
…evastated by failure of biopic?
…ies in tragic cosmetic surgery incident?
Suspense is killing me, man!

Probably doesn’t know the Safe House password.
Profreading is overrated.
Imagine kissing that poopy doody cootie ass! Yucky poo!
Here in Wisconsin right now: 10+ hours without power, trees coated in ice, limbs breaking. The cruelest month, eh?
Freezing rain storm photos after 8 hours without power. We’re okay. Thinking about folks in Ukraine, Gaza, Cuba & elsewhere who have it so much worse.
Ice Storm Baby. Power is out. This is the kind of day books were made for.
