Three paper sculptures hanging on a wall
The tag describing a paper sculpture of a coreopsis
I'm thrilled to have these three pieces hanging at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown New York as a part of their exhibit Art that Matters to the Planet: Beyond Beauty. I especially love the write-up they included with the coreopsis. Such a meaningful show to be a part of!

Paper sculpture of multiflora rose
Paper multiflora rose. It's pretty but invasive! I chose to include all the stages of flowering and fruiting on the stem to show the life cycle of this plant. #sciart
Paper sculptures depicting Tickseed, Knapweed, and Buttercup.
Promotional poster for an exhibit at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute
These three paper sculptures will be included in an upcoming exhibit at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute (yes, Peterson of Field Guide fame!) entitled Art that Matters to the Planet: Beyond Beauty, in Jamestown, New York.
Thanks! It is the coolest thing to be able to make work that makes a difference.

Paper trilliums and trout lilies
My most recent work: trout lilies and trilliums! These are paper sculptures. Spring ephemerals seem to elicit strong emotional response from people. What is your connection to these fragile blooms?

Thanks!!
I'd love to be added to the contributor list!π
Hey thanks so much for the appreciation and reposts! I'm so glad you like my work!
Eastern Back Nightshade paper sculpture
This is Eastern Black Nightshade, Solanum ptycanthum
Glad you noticed those- they were so difficult to do!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I am so glad we don't have poison oak here in Ontario- I am so allergic! The idea with these is to help educate schoolchildren about these plants.
π
Yes poison ivy, oak, black nightshade, hemlock. The rose is multiflora rose, an invasive here in North America, morel is the edible one (hollow through the stem). Others are poison sumac, and ted baneberry. Nice identifying!

My paper orchid in progress: front and back. Love working with these strange shapes!
Thank you! I try to include various stages of the plant's life if I can. I copied this from my own garden.π
Thanks- that's exactly the look I am going for!
Thank you! They were a but of a departure for me (I usually make plants), but a lot of fun to do!
