I was today years old when I realized that the white stripe on the covers to Pink Floyd's "Early Years" discs was a callback to the white stripe on Nick Mason's Transit Van they used to tour in.

I love VANISHING POINT a lot, but after seeing it in the theater at age six (thanks mom!), I had a lot of work to do to balance the themes of the subsidence of optimism, “not making the grade,” existential loss of meaning, and ascension through destruction with a cool car chase.
