"In anticipation of MLB initiating a league expansion process, and in response to interest from prospective groups, Mayor Ken Sim is bringing forward a motion to initiate an open and competitive process towards bringing an MLB franchise to Vancouver."

Dashboard > Plugins > click on View Details next to a plugin and it will pop up the #WordPress plugin directory. All 30 of these have been removed from there so if you see a red notice "This plugin has been closed" then that's one of the bad ones ☠️
Someone bought 30 #WordPress plugins and planted a backdoor in all of them. Check the list to see if your site is running any of these (couple of sliders, timelines and accordions, featured post widgets). One of the many reasons I run only a very small number of plugins on my clients' sites.

Up close with the trunk of a maple tree that has its outer bark removed revealing squiggly lines probably made by an insect. The bark’s been off a while though because moss has grown on the trunk and in the pattern / curvature of the squiggles

Happy to report I’m done and already wasting more time on r/oddlysatisfying watching a video of “Unclogging a culvert using a tire attached to a chain”
I have 50 minutes of audio to transcribe and I don't trust anything automated to do it for me so I listen back at 110% speed and type... OK OK I'm starting now.
Me: supposed to be writing
Also me: looking up the least banana-tasting banana bread recipes, changing my dental appointment in May, talking back to the noisy Northern Flicker in the tree outside, talking to my plants, making a decaf cause my coffee is cold, writing this post...
Product link (I won mine in a giveaway, and then bought my next gala dress from the designer when I picked it up) ☺️
A person walking across some grass between trees, next to a park bench, heading toward the paved Seawall path. The umbrella is a symmetrical Coast Salish / Indigenous design in blue, black, and yellow
Looking directly down on a curved stone staircase along the Seawall as a person passes by under an umbrella that has a repeating pattern with blues, black, and yellow

Looking down at a heron wading in low tide. A grey/blue bird with orange beak, dark stripe on its head, long legs (which you can’t see under its body from this angle). In the foreground on the right is a big of cement railing along the Seawall. The bird is standing in low tide and the clouds in the sky above are reflecting on the water making it look patchy.

AI loves to add in those peninsulas 😆
A tour company used AI video of Hong Kong mixed with Toronto recently to advertised their Vancouver offerings 🤦♀️
Rendering of a crowd in an outdoor amphitheater and the stage in the distance features big screens showing a soccer match. In the distance / background there are the north shore mountains on the left and then on the right it’s the downtown Vancouver skyline (which is actually not possible)
At least the FIFA Fan Festival finally changed their graphic so the rendering no longer shows the downtown Vancouver skyline next to the PNE amphitheater 😆
Too. Many. Peninsulas.
Unfollowing and blocking anyone using AI to create images of our city and having the audacity to tag their location as Vancouver. It’s not creative, it’s not cute. Vancouver is gorgeous on its own why on earth do you need to add 5 more peninsulas, 8 more mountains and impossible sunset angles?
#VWFC score first, up 1-0 at the half 😁

An event poster with a disco ball in the top left corner, a big QR in the centre-right, and a block of sponsor logos across the bottom. The main text says: PRIDE IN THE PARK Memorial Peace Park Maple Ridge Apply to be a Vendor! From 12 - 4pm | June 7, 2026
Pride in the Park is coming up in June and they’re looking for vendors and volunteers.
This is always a really fun celebration, in the heart of Maple Ridge. I’m delighted to be a sponsor again this year 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
Looking up at tall city buildings as their peaks converge in the sky to form an “A” of blue sky between them from my vantage point on the street
Look up, waaay up.
