Good for him but I am tired of learning about all the ways a 41-year-old candidate for U.S. Senate supposedly has a lot more growing and learning to do. Maybe do that before the Senate? And maybe try out a lower office before then?

Or maybe we just watch him blossom into another Sinema/Fetterman.

A tweet from Representative Thomas Massie that reads:

I just viewed 2 Top Secret FISA docs.
1) FISA Court opinion that raises serious concerns about FBI implementation of FISA 702.
2) letter by Senator Wyden describing a secret government interpretation of FISA law.
The Constitution requires I vote No on FISA 702 reauthorization.

I sent a classified letter to House and Senate colleagues about a secret interpretation of surveillance law that every American should be concerned about.

Representative Massie is right. The Constitution requires EVERY member to vote against a clean reauthorization.

I remember arguing this to a then-sitting member of Congress and future presidential candidate in 2008. That the only way to fight the rising authoritarianism in the GOP was to prosecute BushCo war crimes and crush the party, make it reform itself. But I'm just a dirty f'ing hippie. What did I know?

Here's Trump again smearing the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, and insisting that the numerous witnesses who insist that Epstein introduced him to Melanija Knavs (including Epstein himself) are wrong.

Amid quarrel with pope, Trump strips Miami charity of funding to house migrant kids The move comes amid rising tensions between the administration and American Catholics.

The Trump Admin has abruptly canceled an $11M contract with Catholic Charities to shelter and care for migrant children who enter the U.S. alone, ending a relationship between the Catholic Church and the U.S. government dating back to the first arrivals of Cuban exiles in South Florida.

A Historically Bad Day for the Rule of Law in America A Near Worst-Case Scenario The descent of the Justice Department into a...

The descent of the Justice Department into a crude weapon wielded by an erratic authoritarian is gathering speed and quickening the threat to America’s fraying democracy in ways that we all feared but hoped might be kept at bay for a bit longer.

If those who have calculated the direct daily cost of US participation in the Israeli-US war on Iran at $2 billion are correct, Friday will bring the total to $100 billion. Of course, that doesn’t include all kinds of short-term and long-term economic costs caused by the war.

Just as a very general rule, when a Supreme Court pundit writes the sort of book about the Supreme Court that a sitting Supreme Court justice feels comfortable promoting in public, you should be skeptical of everything else that Supreme Court pundit says about the Supreme Court, forever

The thing is, the miasma of social media & the negativity it fosters *also* insured that almost no one was aware of the incredible advances in climate & energy policy under Biden.

It's not *just* the economy. It's everything. That's the point: the info environment rewards doom & resentment.

The US military reported Monday it had killed 2 more people it labeled “narco-terrorists“ w/o one shred of evidence. Added to
the 5 it said it had killed over the weekend brings the total since the killings began to 170. Some critics call these extrajudicial killings. That’s exceedingly kind.

Vanceseems to think that you can separate politics and morality and the church should stay out of the first one, even when it involves the mass slaughter of children. There is a thing in Matthew 6:3 about your right hand not knowing what your left hand is doing, but it's about charity, not murder.
