making it easy to devalue both degrees & labour, which left them vulnerable to further demonization while maintaining profits. Imo, the ā€œgo to collegeā€ era grifts were 00’s online print your degree type ā€œcollegesā€ & making military educations more attractive through 9/11 & 2008 recession fears.

Yep they hate labour. Wouldn’t say ā€œgo to collegeā€ was a grift, I would say ā€œgo to collegeā€ was weaponized. Neoliberalism knew boomers were having lots of kids to capitalize on but boomers also wanted what neoliberalism doesn’t like, educated kids. America was running on debt & privatization tho

TV host Mike Rowe slams schools for portraying skilled trades as a ā€˜consolation prize’—when he’s met data center electricians making $280K a year America pushed a generation toward college—now it’s short hundreds of thousands of skilled workers, and ā€œDirty Jobsā€ host Mike Rowe is joining CEOs of top companies like Nvidia, Ford, and BlackRock in...

Yeah Mike Rowe was a big part of the ā€œlearn a tradeā€ stuff. He never brought up unions positively, talked like it was a get rich quick thing, & mocked ā€œfancy liberal arts degreesā€ even tho he’s an opera singer & tv host. Googled him for the first time in ages, he’s on a data centre scam kick now…

Tech's push to teach coding isn't about kids' success – it's about cutting wages Today’s hi-tech wages threaten Silicon Valley’s bottom line. What better way to drive down coders’ pay than by investing in a new generation of cheap labor?

Yeah they did, it was a multipronged attack on higher ed & programming jobs. Internet chuds got used as pawns to give ā€œlearn to codeā€ traction by mocking people that got laid off, were underemployed, or had high student debt, then tech people undercut the chud coders when their job was done.

My supporting conspiracy theory is the ā€œlearn to codeā€ era was about getting the public to devalue higher education, not about getting young adults into good jobs without high student debt.

I don’t want to ā€œreach across the aisleā€, the kind of policy I support already improves the material conditions of the working class regardless of political affiliation, I want the right side of the political aisle turned to dust because they have no merit or legitimacy.

Thanks for sharing this! I hope we can be louder about how the implementation of public grocery store isn’t new and that they’ve already been well liked.

At the point where I can’t help but think that most judges are just perverts who get off on watching lawyers molest language and law into their most harmful final form.

A screengrab from a youtube video. Mark Carney is seen in profile with the words "FORWARD GUIDANCE WITH PRIME MINISTER MARK CARNEY" layered over.

The PM is calling his new regular updates 'Forward Guidance'. Is that supposed to be cute?

For anyone who doesn't know, that's pure central bank language. Central banks use forward guidance to provide info about monetary policy directions.

Do we really need a central bank glossary?

In the past 6 months and JUST between gravy plane 2.0 and his pro America ad simping for reagan, ford’s set $100million+ of our money on fire. Ford doesn’t see Ontarians as people, he sees us as his personal piggy bank to use & abuse.

Even at my crabbiest, I'll always believe in us the people. I know how much we're capable of, especially when we come together to fight for the dignified life we deserve.

Let's gooo! Remember, there are different & better ways to build society. The rich & their paid off pets preach falsities that society "is what it is" or that humans are inherently selfish cos it's easier to steal from a public who've been abused into internalizing fear & defeat.

Using gift links or just moving on is also good & respectable. My post came from a place of being annoyed at entitled behaviour & the rejection of problem solving skills that comes with it. I wouldn’t go around giving out bypassed links, that’s messed up.

Yeah, writers shouldn’t be shamed for asking for compensation. I also know that everyone can’t afford every subscription but that still doesn’t make that the author’s problem.

Getting mad at paywalls in a jouno’s or organization’s comments is so audacious lmao, real bitch made behaviour. You’re an adult, use your problem solving skills. The internet’s existed for 30+ yrs, Google for another source or use a paywall bypass. Workers deserve compensation, not your snarky ass

Very real. It’s an interesting topic, cos I’m with you but I’m thinking it’s a blend of what we’re saying. I don’t think adults who base their guiding principles in fantasy fanfic, & that prolly have other control & social fears in a very hierarchical society, just stop at that point you know?

So instead they do their best to take away that ā€œgod powerā€ from everyone else & get real transphobic.
Kinda thinking out loud rn cos your post got my gears turning

The rationalists fascinate me (derogatory). It’s very trans & I think that scares them cos it kinda ruins their power fantasy. If they can completely change their body then that means they’re a god, but if other ppl can also change their body then they’re not the most powerful or god anymore.

I feel that. I get the boost powder (~$19CAD/22 serving container) put 2-3 scoops in a mini blender, add lots of frozen fruit & fill the rest with milk. Imo banana w/ vanilla boost is the easiest flavour on an empty tummy plus you can add a big scoop of peanut butter to it for more fats.

"They were old maiden type of shoes, and
she said that those shoes were meant to
be worn on a beautiful woman.

So if that is the case she should have put
them back on the rack and she should
never even purchased them because she
was UNQUALIFIED to own those shoes if
that's the case."

The only thing that that James Bond turned Rambo american exceptionalism machismo propaganda BS did was create generational failsons. Believing in a brighter future by & for the people is pretty easy, cos these freaks simply don’t have the capacity to be winners.

Doesn’t make this admin less dangerous, but it’s been on my mind for a long time. Trump & co are too horny for violence & pageantry to recognize the sheer amount of unsexy organization & administrative work required to maintain a sprawling U.S. empire. You need people that are paper work perverts.

Always fucking gets me when you’re coming up to an intersection and someone’s speeding & lane weaving to get to a light that just turned red faster

Like honest to god, what’s wrong with you? Do you go into employee reviews asking them to pay you less too???

If you’re boasting about using AI at work you have zero self preservation skills. There’s better moral & big picture reasons not to use AI, but if you’re dancing around like a jackass yelling ā€œI’m very replaceable & bad at what I do!ā€ you clearly don’t even have the care or capacity to save yourself
