White graphic with 'Why does this research matter' and explanation of IDE's research focus

Despite the growth of mainstream inclusion, there's limited research on how deaf pupils experience interpreter-mediated classrooms.
We're gathering insights from pupils, teachers, interpreters & families to fill that evidence gap.

What's IDE about?
We examine how teaching and learning work when classroom communication is mediated through sign language interpreters.
A collaboration across Germany, Ireland & Norway studying what actually supports inclusion in mainstream classrooms.
