To qualify for the state compensation, mink farms must shut down their operations by June 2025 at the latest. However, there are strong indications that the remaning farms are already empty and that finally breeding of mink in barren wire cages has become history in Sweden. 💙

After decades of public campaigning and political advocacy work by Project 1882, the Swedish government announced in 2023 that they will give financial compensation to mink farmers that close their farms. Now, finally this is happening!
