- Eternal Darkness (the gamecube game)
- 9 (the sack puppet movie)
It's also a factor in language development (to communicate which plant is poisonous, even in the absence of that plant!), and tool usage itself (tools are great; even better is teaching others to use the tools so they can also improve efficiency, safety, & quality of life).
Community is so important that you can argue that it's one reason why we evolved big brains (other reasons include visual processing, tool usage, energy availability). People generally are extremely attuned to find and read faces, and to communicate. You need people to communicate TO.
