We stand for public education.

The UCP is introducing legislation to ensure that only "serious" people are allowed to run in elections.

Whatever could go wrong with a government putting up barriers for people who want to run against them?

Those of you standing in long lines for municipal elections in Alberta today:

1) stay in line; your voice matters
2) the long lines are a direct consequence of the conspiracy-driven policy changes brought forward by the UCP government (and not your beleaguered election workers); be kind

Braid: UCP will decide who can run for office next time; only the "serious" allowed UCP plans new rules to limit who can run in provincial and civic elections. There's a bill coming soon.

Get ready - UCP is about to pass a law saying who's allowed to run in elections next time. Only the "serious" need apply. Is this partisan? No answer to that. Column.

I urge my fellow Albertans to read the Wyant report. It's actually not that long! It's not as well organized as one might hope but it is damning. #abpoli #ableg

Take this, for example:

This is STILL bad vaccination policy.

They are openly stating this unadvertised survey will be used to guide the number they order and reduce wastage - ie to order less vaccines.

Responsible spending would be to order WAY MORE and have a robust communications & outreach program to boost vax rates.

Good news: clarified message.
Bad news: here’s the message
“Pre-ordering for the 2026–2027 immunization season starts on Sept 29 and ends Dec 15. Pre-ordering helps secure vaccines, reduce wastage, and support responsible spending. Albertans can still book next year if they don’t pre-order.”

Got off the plane and walked into a drug store in Ottawa and got my COVID vaccine in under 5 minutes. No line up. No appointment. No cost.

Was even asked if I wanted Moderna or Pfizer.

It’s unconscionable that we can’t get this same level of service in Alberta.

🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..

Rakhi Pancholi came out swinging on the Wyant Report and highlighted all of its flaws and shortcomings…

It’s worth remembering she’s a lawyer as she takes Danielle Smith’s spin apart.

Not interviewed by Judge Wyant in a report that’s supposed to probe political interference into AHS
-Health Minister Lagrange
-her chief of staff
-anyone on political side other than Marshall Smith, who left premier’s office last fall

Unbelievable. Chills.

Tens of thousands of teachers converging downtown just outside where Danielle Smith is addressing an audience.

I’ve never seen anything like this.

Time to listen up, Premier.

Time for a fair deal.

We stand with teachers.

New poll suggests bulk of public back Alberta teachers in contract dispute | CBC News A new Angus Reid Institute poll suggests locked-out teachers have more public support than the Alberta government as a contract dispute cancels classes for a second week.

This is the first publicly released polling on Alberta education issues from a professional pollster in a while, and the results are super interesting.

ARI poll suggests contract dispute support for teachers: 58%
Support for AB govt: 21 %
Neither: 18 % #AbLeg #AbEd

Seconds after proposing a "complexity cap" instead of addressing class sizes, Smith was asked what that means...

Her response?

"I don't know"

So we're back to doing complex policy via "Dani free associates words" again.

Last night I had the honour of being presented a scroll to recognize 2 decades of independent media coverage of local protests, rallies, and other events often lacking coverage. It was presented to me by MLA Janis Irwin at the @bmcnews.bsky.social volunteer appreciation party at Tony’s Pizza. #yeg

On World Mental Health Day, I'm thinking of everyone who is struggling right now.

If the world feels heavy, know that you don't carry its weight alone.

If all you do today is exist, it's ok.

You are loved. You matter.

Your mental health matters.

And I'm so grateful you're here.

Evan! 🙌

Feeling so inspired and hopeful after meeting with Evan Li. What an incredible young man.

Thank you for using your voice, Evan, and thank you for encouraging so many others to do the same.

Today, and every day, we stand with students and we stand with teachers.

On World Teachers’ Day, here’s a little throwback to Ms. Irwin teaching high school 💅

And though it’s been a while since I taught, I’ve never forgotten what it was like to be in a classroom. My heart is with teachers and all they’re dealing with. I see you and I stand with you. Always. ❤️

The workers united will never be defeated!

HSAA members are some of the many workers across the province who are standing up and speaking out.

We’re stronger together, friends.

Keep standing up for workers, for our healthcare system, for education, and for a better Alberta for all.

I know there’s a lot going on with *gestures to everything* but as of today, October 1st:

🚩Alberta officially has the LOWEST minimum wage in Canada

🚩AISH recipients in social housing will pay hundreds more in rent

Cruel UCP choices are making life more expensive.

It doesn’t have to be this way.
