Rainbow was also a member of Camel which made me audibly gasp when I figured that out

English is a hard language to translate to, even on earth. I don't blame him for taking a shortcut on that
Oh for sure. They were bigger, but I would argue not much bigger than Staind or Puddle Of Mudd who each had huge top 10s and numerous smaller follow up hits. The big difference is the critics also liked Evanescence and did not like those other bands.
Ya those bands kinda just faded away. They never burned out, like there isn't a big reason for Saving Abel not having a second hit. They just kinda went away and didn't get another pop push
Well ya, but they had a few genre hits afterward. I think a better example than Default may have been Staind. Iirc they had two decent sized hits after It's Been Awhile but they were CBY hard
Also do either count as trainwreckords?? It is the story of huge hype to begin with the first record, smaller hits with the second, and then relegated to genre hits from then on out. Even without leaving the 00s rock scene you could make the same episode about Daughtry, Puddle Of Mudd, or Default
I think the self titled would fit more. The Open Door has Call Me When You're Sober, plus the Grammy winning Sweet Sacrifice and probably their best single "Lithium"
Sad, Canada deserves better
I don't know if I like Golden or if the vocal flexing impressed me but it is definitely the one I go back to most.
Ya Bon Jovi has like no interesting drama or backstory whatsoever. Just a couple catchy songs
Fr. I think the argument of Drake vs Wayne in that track can be made but Em def was best and Kanye was 100% worst
I'm literally dumb AF ngl
I just went to check the TOTC predictions and ya, it's big on Urban radio but over 75% of its numbers are streaming so it beats me
I'll be real. I'm not entirely sure but I'd imagine Urban (this is what the format is called) radio, which is not usually looked at for chart momentum but does more than most would think.
He has a hit song right now somehow
Even if all the songs becoming hits were bad, at least new songs are becoming hits
I've kind of always said this about 74. No one will tell me that a year with Time by Pink Floyd is a bad year.
Part of me wonders if this could even qualify for Billboard.
Yes ๐. I use the term sometimes when I talk about Active rock since I still follow that scene
Justice for Sin Wagon
You made the point about how Taylor and Morgan got as big as they are by playing both sides, but Bad Bunny did not do that. He kept doing what he did best, even when Drake collabed with him it was 100% a Bad Bunny song that Drake happened to be on.
Actually the more I think about it the better it sounds. They have recognizable tunes, a killer live show, and if you want guest stars, Miley Cyrus, Phoebe Bridgers, and Chris Stapleton all have covered Nothing Else Matters.
I'm loving the direction of the recent Halftime Shows but I'd be lying if I said a Metallica halftime show wouldn't be cool as hell
They kept having traction on the Mainstream Rock charts. The followup to this particular single may have ruined their Alt rock chart presence though
I have a wild stat about this. Red Bull has been in F1 for over 20 years. Now I'm 2001 when Toyota joined they mentioned that they had spent a Billion dollars before they ever put wheels on a track. Imagine how money Red Bull has out in to actually win races in 20 years.
I feel so dumb for not connecting that now ๐ญ
Did Kid Rock say another stupid thing?? Because if not then why are people waiting until the announcement to pull out of his festival, why accept the booking at all??
Wild after how the drummer called Ludacris a coward for pulling out a few weeks ago
Ya. It's a rare case where I think Billboard is 100% correct in their stance.
I think it's a case now where most artists understand how the charts work, and record labels especially understand so promo may not be directed at YouTube. It'll be interesting to follow this in the coming months because it could signal a change from YouTube.
