Post the LAST SENTENCE of your last article:

‘The darkened landscapes of their grief give the illusion of “perceptual sociability,” though ultimately this is revealed to be a poetic fantasy that only serves to intensify the solitariness of the mourner.’

Some assume that my work on grief is inherently sad. But my research often reminds me that grief is not a solitary void and is often richly populated by inaudible, soundless conversations through the inner voice.

There is so much comfort in the rebounded echoes of those who can’t reply.

View of We all got Poetry and Life is Rich

My work has recently turned back to echoes and conversations with voices that can’t reply. I’ve been returning to this piece on my experience of #grief while researching poetry & death. It is filled with echoes of final moments, where we all got poetry & life felt rich.

Such a great resource, thanks so much! I’d love to be added if possible. Currently working on a memoir about shared connected solitude in chronic illness and queerness & would love to be connected to as many life writing folks as possible!

Affliction’s Lonely Hour Click on the article title to read more.

Sharing some of my writing here to give a sense of the ideas I’m working. This was a difficult and emotional one to write, but a glimpse into the solitary world of chronic illness diagnosis & finding new connections with a body that has turned against you.

Love this, thank you for putting it together! If you have time to add me in, I’d really appreciate it. Currently writing non-fiction / memoir about the unexpected connectedness of solitude in chronic illness and queerness.

Just introducing myself to Bluesky 👋
I research and write about a variety of things including grief, illness, and solitude. I’m currently writing about my own chronic illness, queerness and the unexpected connectedness of solitude. I’m also a human to the cutest corgi in the world.
