Carbon balls instead of standard. Regular ones kept getting magnetized and messing up the trough and MM lock. When it gets out of sync, it doesn’t recover cleanly even when moving to the next player and has to be rebooted. Pretty disastrous, honestly. We’ll see how long it makes it this year.

Indeed. He’d be extremely well-qualified to judge (just as an example) who is the best goal scorer in the NHL.

Signups for my annual pinball tournament are today at noon! Last year it filled up in about 15 minutes.
Starting to freak out. Getting a collection of 18 pinball machines competition-ready is a stressful and daunting task.

Kinda one of the worst songs on that album but I’ve always got time for some early bad religion! I’d take maybe I want to conquer the world or the automatic man. Really though Generator is the album if you want the bangers.

That said I think he retired last week. :(
With Cole Hutson carrying the mail on the PP next year he could easily hit 40 goals again if he plays. Without hyperboles or exaggeration, this season’s Caps Power Play was literally the worst thing humanity has ever witnessed in its entire history.
(To be clear, do as much of whatever drug you want. I just think the message itself is funny.)
My 1993 Star Trek: The Next Generation pinball machine has the same message that periodically appears. New code for it came out this month (yes for real!) adding a setting to turn off that message. It’s staying on. It’s a crucial part of the 90s charm!
Oh I know this genre
I’ve hit it a few times … seems like basically nine of them drain right away, usually.
To be fair this was a dream.
Makes me hungry for cellular peptide cake (with mint frosting).
They are indeed rigged. The payout percentage is set by the operator.
Chuck E Cheese went all-in on the gambling model in the early 2000s. By 2007, they’d phased out rides and ballpits & slides, had a maximum of one pinball (or none) and only a handful of traditional arcades. The vast majority were machines that ate coins, flashed some lights, and spit out tickets.
Establishment Dems, after being set on fire by Trump wielding a flamethrower: “We have written this strongly worded letter calling for Trump to provide a tall glass of water to every person he has personally set on fire. Don’t worry, we didn’t use any bad words. Please don’t get mad at us.”
Important Unspoken Note: this handwringing applies only to young white women (with older men). The ideal goal is still sterilization for black women, who have spent every day since Reagan arrived being shamed and demonized for their pregnancies.
Why would I make that up
There was a Star Trek episode like that - The Arsenal of Freedom. The Enterprise and its away team get repeatedly attacked with escalating force by what turns out to be an automated tech demo from an extinct civilization, and only save themselves when they agree to buy weapons from the AI salesman.
Like, you’re the one inventing a negative connotation that doesn’t exist for that word.
It kinda sounds like you don’t believe people can be passionate about their hobbies, and that you dont know what the word “hobby” means.
He’s a fucking Nazi and you’re apologizing for him, you Nazi dupe.
Was gonna say you gotta hit that captive ball when it’s flashing purple to start your battle, but then you started the Meowth Multiball instead, nice work. :)
i dunno i think i could be convinced no movie works without rick moranis in some capacity, to be honest.
yeah what?
I feel like it all stems from a kind of toxic insecurity that makes sincerity feel like a vulnerability. TNG was the opposite, with Roddenberry famously forbidding interpersonal conflict. That take is dramatically problematic, but it feels fresh again due to cynical sarcasm overdose of modern media!
The 1980s / 90s were racist and homophobic as fuck, but at least basic human empathy was still considered good and pollution was bad, and neither take was fundamentally political.
Yeah! Most Marvel movies for example give me whiplash from aggressively swerving around any plot point that might accidentally force them into saying anything at all of substance about anything. It’s almost anti-art in how intentionally vapid they are. A complete blank slate, ideologically.
Unfortunately, so is Collins.
