Many of y’all asked how you can support and donate to our female athletes and the celebrations,,, so I created a Go Fund Me. I’m hopeful this can have an impact beyond the weekend and help those that represent the best of the US

In competitive authoritarianism (US right now) there's often a "loyal opposition" that's essential to the regime. They are so wedded to "decorum," they go along with rites & rituals that help regime prop up veneer of normalcy, undermining clear view of regimes actions & aims.
Screenshot of a CNN segment shared by Acyn. A split-screen shows commentator Lydia Moynihan on the left and Kevin O’Leary on the right during a heated exchange. The chyron reads, “Obama: Dems need to avoid scolding and ‘virtue-signaling.’” The post quotes O’Leary referencing China and concentration camps, and McGowan responding about West Virginia.
I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.
There is no way Senate Dems should vote for DHS funding while Republicans are threatening to nationalize elections and Trump is threatening to do it by executive order. ICE reforms are no longer enough. Their authoritarianism must be fought with every legislative lever available.
C, but with wine. Final answer.
If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.
Democracy dies in oligarchy.
Yeah, give gin its moments too.
Look, if you had a party scheduled at your house, and the pipes broke and the floor was covered in raw sewage, you’d tell your friends not to come over.
In that spirit: world, skip the World Cup until we get this sewage worked out. And don’t be too sure about the Olympics.
A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
This. I’ll also add that 2a doesn’t exist if the existence of a gun is used as a reason for execution.
Once you start drinking the coffee it’s no longer empty, win win!

Eat the pickle. Then they don’t have one and you enjoyed a tasty treat.
Art class should never stop being a thing. Like if right after lunch we all got to go down to the basement for an hour, throw on a smock, and make collages out of old magazines while somebody's eccentric, slightly witchy aunt tells us how great we're doing, I feel like we'd all be in a better place.
I remember being pushed to go to college so I could have a better future than my parents, and grandparents, working factory jobs. That’s what’s just baffling to me about this push to bring manufacturing back.
Less good ones, but I blame the metformin. Pretty regular at least.
The Prime Minister of the Heard / McDonald Islands Speaks on Trump’s Tariffs
Dang. This is how it's done.
I mean, makes as much sense as the rest of them. Not sure I’d want make an enemy of penguins, but I’m not a stable genius either.
They’re clearly excellent helpers.
Totally worth looking into! Those little wood palettes are just fantastic and so aesthetic, but if you want something more modular, check out the art toolkit ones. Not that I have too many travel palettes or anything…
While I generally like Aqua more, for this one I’ll vote orange :)
Oh to be back again, enjoy it thoroughly!!
Watercolor sketch of a tropical scene in a pocket palette with a pen and water brush to the side
Honestly, I’m kind of liking the smaller size for a quick sketch, feels less intimidating for a beginner. Too cold for me to venture out today, but good excuse to practice with some vacation photos of somewhere warm. #watercolor #artyear
Honestly, not bad! I’m kind of liking the smaller size, and makes for a quick sketch. Going to cut some better paper than what it came with for the next one and see if I can get used to it more. Worse ways to spend a cold day.
Heck, I live here and I’ve canceled planned trips this year.
Yup, well made too! Has enough storage for half a dozen pieces of paper in the top half, I’ll probably take a small water brush with me rather then relying on the brush included though.

Closed pocket watercolor palette in a leather cover
It finally came! Ordered this pocket #watercolor palette from bluestarcraftmx on Etsy awhile back to have an all in one tiny kit for #urbansketching and it got here earlier this week. Filled it with some of my favorite colors and today seems perfect for a test run. After it stops snowing.
