Brightline had a really good month of March, about double the yoy increases it has been seeing normally. Obviously benefitting from the TSA staffing problems. Hopefully they can retain some of those new passengers going forward.

One more, just for fun.
Things aren’t going so well over on the other side after last night.
Are you covering SCOWIS tonite? Polls close at 8pm. In all honesty it will likely be called by 8:45 ish.
Rough back of the napkin math here, but if Amtrak exercises that order option for $2.7b it could mean maybe 30 more Airo sets in addition to the 83 already ordered. I think the original option was for up to 130.
If you aren’t watching the #kornackicam for primary election coverage you are missing out.
I think a very achievable goal for the SCOWIS race in Waukesha county is getting the Republican margin down to 55-45.
I was kind of wondering that myself. I haven’t heard anything one way or another.
WisDOTs Venture order is finally finished and on their way for commisioning.
This is monumental in Wisconsin politics. Tells you just how bad the environment is for Republicans. She’s also likely announcing this early to give whatever eventual republican candidate a fighting chance to build a campaign.
Yes, Amtrak is pursuing this while WisDOT works thru the Corridor ID projects. It’s worth noting that all of this almost certainly hinges on dems getting a trifecta this fall. If we only keep the governorship and pick up the senate there could be a sliver of hope.
Please, please, please, continue to do more Kornacki cam segments. Wisconsin Supreme Court race in April would be awesome for it.
I’m not a MN politics expert but gut feeling says you guys are getting a dem trifecta this fall. I’m optimistic we get one in WI too. That bodes VERY well for getting both states to jointly purchase new Borealis equipment. (Hopefully equipment for a 2nd RT right away too)
I’m pretty optimistic about a dem trifecta this fall and that almost surely means increased transit funding in the next state budget.
As much as I am a fan of the bi-level cars, for simplicities sake I’m behind this decision. Also, for the fact that we just need to finally get something started.
Let your state senator and assembly person know that you’d like to see new rolling stock for Borealis. Amtrak doesn’t have the equipment needed to provide enough capacity or bike storage. The state needs to step in and purchase that new equipment.
Repeal the min. markup on gas. State thinks it may add up to 8 or 9 cents a gallon. Increase the gas tax to match. No increase at the pump for consumers but provides close to $200 million in new revenue. Devote half to municipal transit agencies and half to passenger rail.
I’m not sure what excites me more……Vos retiring or the disappointment Tyler August is gonna experience on election nite this fall when he learns he’s going to be Assembly Minority Leader.
There’s a high probability he soiled himself in his fit of rage.
Striking similarity.
Is purchasing new equipment part of their SDP?
Those Cascades Airo sets sure do look nice.
I see listed under the benefits that it ‘leverages other EB investments at Malta’. Do you know what those investments were/are?
Has any legislation been proposed for Minnesota to contribute to the Midwest equipment pool to purchase Borealis equipment?
Incoming quotes from Mike Johnson and every other Republican saying they haven’t seen the post.
Like what the actual fuck. You are the authorities of the state. You go there in force, take control of the crime scene, and if the feds try to stop you then you detain/arrest them for obstruction and you proceed with your investigation of the crime scene.
I think it would be prudent this fall in Madison to have police officers discreetly stationed at each polling location in case any attempt by the federal government is made to interfere.
I fully expect they donate a very large sum of that to the Republican Supreme Court candidate to help close her funding gap.
She really hates it when you call her Chaya instead.
